“Matilda Jr.” auditions
Weatherford College Alkek Fine Arts Center 225 College Park Dr., Weatherford, TXThe Weatherford College Teen Summer Musical will hold auditions for “Matilda Jr.” on Saturday, May 7, in the Alkek Fine Arts Center.
Auditions begin at 8 a.m. with callbacks starting the same day at 1 p.m. All students who have completed grades 9-12 by May 30 are eligible to audition for camp. A chorus camp is open to students who have completed grades 3-8 by May 30, but there are limited spots.

Camp runs Monday, May 30, through Friday, June 3 in the Alkek Fine Arts Center. The cost is $200 plus an additional $50 costume fee for performers.

Republican Candidate Forum
Doss Heritage and Culture Center 1400 Texas Drive, Weatherford, TXThe Parker County Republican Party will host a candidate forum for House District 60 at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 12, at the Doss Heritage and Culture Center, 1400 Texas Drive in Weatherford. The forum will include both Rep Glenn Rogers and Mike Olcott. The event is designed to solicit thoughtful responses to complex issues that are challenging Texans daily and to provide Parker County voters an opportunity to hear directly from each candidate during the official program as well as one-on-one before and after the event.
Additionally, candidates from the other Parker County runoff elections will have tables set-up with campaign material and they will be prepared to address your questions regarding their respective races.

Aledo Community Center 104 Robinson Court, Aledo, TXTheatre off the Square will present Romeo and Juliet at 6 p.m. on May 13 and 14 in the park next to the Aledo Community Center. Tickets are $10 for people 12 and older, and $5 for people younger than 12.

Day of Hope
The Branch to Hope Community Center will host the inaugural Day of Hope from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday, May 22, at its new facility at 699 Susie Lane in Aledo.
The Branch to Hope Community Center is a multi-generational recreation and event center focusing on restoring hope and bringing the community together through engaging activities for all life stages.
Activities during the event will include fishing, food trucks, music, a mini rodeo, petting zoo, horses, community booths, and face painting.
