Candidate Forum
The Bush Legacy Republican Women of Weatherford will host a candidate forum from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Doss Heritage and Culture Center in Weatherford. Doors open at 6 p.m. and questions will be accepted from 6-6:30 p.m.

Virtual Rally
The NAACP of Parker County will host a virtual rally for the removal of the Confederate statue from the Parker County Courthouse grounds via Zoom from 12-1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17.
Speakers include Mark Stafford, Deacon of New Hope Baptist Church; Elizabeth Louvat, Owner of The Haps Store on the Parker County Downtown Square; Pastor Franz J. Schemmel of Messiah Lutheran Church; Dr. Bradley Borougerdi, Co-founder and Executive Board Member of the Tarrant County Coalition for Peace and Justice; and James Gray, Parker County historian.
The public is invited to participate.

Candidate Forum
The East Parker County Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Committee will host a candidates forum for the Texas Senate District 30 runoff at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, at New River Fellowship, 3252 Interstate 20 Frontage Road in Hudson Oaks.
Lunch will be catered by Baker’s Ribs for the face-off between candidates Drew Springer and Shelley Luther.
Member sign-up is $25, with early-bird sign-ups for $20 before Monday, Nov. 9.

Bush Legacy Republican Women of Weatherford Fundraiser Dinner
Star Parker will be the guest speaker for the Bush Legacy Republican Women of Weatherford fundraising dinner at 6 p.m. Friday, April 16, at Dove Ridge Vineyard in Weatherford. The event is the major fundraiser for the club.
Parker is the founder and president of CURE, Center for Urban Renewal and Education.
CURE is a non-profit Policy Institute based in Washington, D.C. that fights poverty to restore dignity through messages of faith, freedom, and personal responsibility.
The vision of CURE is to preserve, promote, and protect Christianity, capitalism, and our constitution to improve culture, reduce government dependency, and to build race relations.
CURE works in public policy, the public square, and in poor communities through three programs:
a Policy Program that works directly with the White House and the Congress on Welfare Reform ideas;
a Media Program that includes rapid response, a daily news site, blackcommunitynews.com and a TV Show, CURE America with Star Parker;
and a Clergy Program that umbrellas a national network of more than 950 conservative clergy who serve in various distressed zip codes around the country.
