The Church at the Crossing in Aledo will host an outdoor movie night at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 6, at Dub’s Tub Baptismal Park, 128 Elm St. in Aledo.

Back 2 School Bash

Aledo United Methodist Church will host a “Back 2 School Bash” from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 11, at 100 Pecan Dr. in Aledo. Activities will include bounce houses, water slides, sidewalk chalk games, and other activities. Julie Bean’s Ice Cream and hot dogs will also be available.

2021 Fashion Show

Arlene Gale will be the featured speaker when Sanctified Hope holds its 2021 Fashion Show at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 12, at Trinity Bible Church, 4936 E Interstate 20 in Willow Park.

Sanctified Hope Home for Women provides a safe, learning environment for women who have recently been released from prison. Through a 12-18 month Christ-centered program, women journey to freedom and success. They will participate in Bible-based discipleship training, vocational classes, job training, volunteer programs, which will then lead to full-time employment.

The Aledo High School band program will host “Meet the Band” from 6-7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 13, at Aledo High School. Food trucks, Aledo merchandise, and live music will be featured (food trucks will arrive at 5 p.m.). The Band Olympics will follow at 7 p.m.

Meet the Bearcats

Meet the Bearcats will be held at noon on Saturday, Aug. 14, at the Aledo High School Indoor Practice Facility. Meet the Bearcats traditionally provides fans (young and old alike) an opportunity to meet fall athletes and cheerleaders.

Aledo Band Play-a-Thon

The Aledo band program will hold a Play-a-Thon beginning at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 11.
The day will begin with the Aledo High School Chamber Band performing songs signifying freedom from 8:30 - 10:30 a.m. at Shops at Willow Park, 210 Shops Blvd.
After the Chamber Band performance, the Aledo band program (grades 6-12) will perform a program of patriotic music from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Bearcat Stadium.

Back to the 80s

Will Rogers Memorial Center 3401 W Lancaster Ave, Fort Worth

Dust off your leg warmers, tease up your hair and mark your calendars to go ‘Back to the 80's’ beginning at 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11 at the Will Rogers Memorial Center Roundup Inn.
The event is a fundraising gala to benefit Project Celebration 2022, a parent-driven group at Aledo High School that raises money to host a drug-free, alcohol-free safe alternative after prom for seniors. 
The Back to the 80’s Gala will include entertainment by the band “Live 80.” They’ll perform 80s hits while guests enjoy dinner, cash bar, live-band karaoke, dancing, and more. There will be auction items and special activities throughout the night to help support Project Celebration 2022.
Tables are available for purchase for $1,000 and individual tickets are $100 each. Sponsorships are available with a variety of branding opportunities for local businesses and a few limited live-band karaoke spots are available. 
Purchases are tax deductible since Project Celebration is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Willow Bark

Willow Park City Hall 516 Ranch House Rd, Willow Park

Before the dog days of summer come to an end, you can celebrate your furry friends at Willow Park’s inaugural dog festival, Willow Bark. The event will be held at at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 18, at the Paul Balint Jr. Memorial Park.
The event offers a dog costume contest and parade, as well as “weenie dog races,” which will actually consist of two dog races, separated by small and large sizes.
Admission is free to the public, but the registration fee for competitions is $5 per pet.
There will also be several food trucks and vendors. Juliebean’s Ice Cream truck will bring ice cream treats for pups (though they are human-safe, too).
For humans, the Rocky Lott Band will perform live, and a play area for children will offer several kid-friendly activities.
All proceeds will benefit Parker Paws.
