Leap into History

The East Parker County Library will host “Leap into History,” the theme of its annual fundraising dinner, at 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28 at Faith Presbyterian Church, 301 Bailey Ranch Road in Aledo.
The event will begin with an authentic chuck wagon BBQ buffet followed by presentations from local community history experts, who will dive into Aledo and Parker County history.
The panel will include Laurie Chance Smith, author of Around Veal’s Station, An Illustrated History of Parker County’s Oldest Town; Lanie Garmon, local historian and host of the “Ghosts of Aledo” Facebook Page; and Ben McCarthy, local historian, and host of “Backroads of Aledo” Facebook Page.
The event will feature giveaways and a silent auction.
Tickets are $30 per person and can be purchased at the East Parker County Library. One prize ticket will be provided with each dinner purchased.
