Free Community Health Fair

The ninth annual Free Community Health Fair will run from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Family Life Center at First United Methodist Church, 303 S. Main in Weatherford.
Free blood work (CBC, Lipid, TSH, blood sugar and PSA for men) will be offered from 8-10:30 a.m. only. A 10-hour fast is recommended for the blood work (morning meds, black coffee, and water are acceptable). Blood work is processed free by Palo Pinto General Hospital Laboratory; collected by Weatherford College Phlebotomy students.
Flu Vaccines will be offered by the Parker County Hospital District Outreach Program: The vaccine is free (no deductibles or out-of-pocket) for 6 months-18 years with a parent present. For those 19 and older, PCHD can file most commercial insurance and Medicare. Cost $20 for those without insurance. Quadrivalent Injection and High Dose flu vaccines are available. (NO FluMist available this year.)
Other services/features include medical specialists, chiropractors, dentists, hospice, home health, children’s fingerprints, fire safety program, and more.
Photo opportunities for children include McGruff, the police dog (10-11 a.m.); Weatherford Firemen and fire truck (10 a.m. to noon).
There is no admission charge, but organizers request one canned or dry food item for the local food bank.
