Local Covid 19 Event Changes and Resources

Many events in Parker County are being rescheduled or canceled due to the Covid 19 Coronavirus outbreak in the United States. We are developing this page to provide updates as we learn about them. If you have local event updates or resources, please send them to news@community-news.com.

Local Events and Activities

  • Aledo Ag Backers will delay their annual auction originally planned for April 4.
  • Aledo Band Boosters Car Show scheduled for March 28 will be rescheduled for a later date. https://www.aledobandboosters.org
  • Aledo Children's Advocats - The Run, Walk, or Crawl Glow Run scheduled for March 28 will be rescheduled for a later date. https://aledoadvocats.com
  • Aledo ISD - Classes are canceled for the two weeks following spring break. Classes will resume on April 6 pending further notice. https://www.aledoisd.org
  • Aledo Lions Club charity dinner originally scheduled for March 31 will be held at a later date.
  • Aledo United Methodist Church - Worship service for March 15 has been canceled and all church activities will be on hold until March 23. Worship will be conducted online. https://aledoumc.org
  • Annetta's March City Council meeting has been canceled. https://www.annettatx.org
  • Center of Hope will have drive-through assistance from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday-Thursday for groceries (basic dry goods pre-packaged for pick up only) and financial assistance for utilities and prescriptions. There will not be classes or tutoring this week. https://centerofhopetx.com
  • Child Advocacy Center of Parker County will limit time in the office and staffing until further notice. 682-615-1992
  • Church at the Crossing will have a virtual-only service at 10:45 a.m. on Sunday, March 15. All other activities have been canceled until further notice. http://crossingaledo.com
  • City of Weatherford is postponing all public city events effective at 12 a.m. Monday, March 16. The city will remain open to provide critical services. http://www.weatherfordtx.gov
  • Doss Heritage and Culture Center UPDATE will be closed until further notice. Digital programs are being planned. http://dosscenter.org
  • East Parker County Chamber of Commerce has canceled/rescheduled ribbon-cutting events and the B2B Leads luncheons scheduled for March. https://www.eastparkerchamber.com/home/
  • East Parker County Library will be closed March 17 to April 6. All programming will be suspended, but courier service will continue. Phone messages (817-441-6545) and emails (libdirector@epclibrary.com) will be answered. https://www.epclibrary.com
  • Hearts Full of Love is asking food recipients to park normally, then have one person exit the vehicle and wait for assistance. https://heartsfulloflove.org/ministries/
  • New River Fellowship has canceled worship services on March 15 and March 22. Services will be live-streamed at 9:15 a.m. and will be available after that. https://www.newriver.tv
  • Parker County Cleanup Day, Scheduled for March 28, has been canceled.
  • Parker County Committee on Aging’s March for Meals, originally scheduled for March 28, will be rescheduled. www.pccoa.org
  • Parker County Republican Party's convention will be rescheduled, most likely after May 15. http://www.parkertxgop.org
  • Social Security offices have stopped offering in-person services as of March 17.
  • Texas A&M Singing Cadets concert scheduled for March 29 in Aledo has been canceled.
  • Theatre off the Square will be dark until further notice. http://www.theatreoffthesquare.org
  • Weatherford College - Spring Break is extended one week. Classes will resume Monday, March 30. Employees will work remotely March 23-27. https://www.wc.edu
  • Weatherford ISD - Spring break will be extended for two weeks. All classes and extracurricular events are canceled. Classes will resume on April 6. The Weatherford High School prom, scheduled for April 2, will be rescheduled. https://www.weatherfordisd.com
  • Willow Bark - Parker Paws and the City of Willow Park have announced that Willow Bark will be postponed until a later date.
  • Willow Park is closing all city offices. Staff will be present to assist the public via telephone or email. Municipal court dockets for March 28 and April 8 have been suspended, and the March 24 city council and March 19 Board of Adjustments meeting have been canceled. Click here for more information.
  • Willow Park Baptist Church - One service only at 10 a.m. Sunday, March 15. Nursery will be provided. All other services and church activities have been canceled for the week. March 15 worship will be live-streamed at willowparkbaptist.churchonilne.org or facebook.com/WillowParkBaptistChurch.
  • Women's Legacy Conference has been postponed until a later date. https://www.lisamariegraves.com

Still On:

  • Parker County Democratic Party is still holding its county convention on a “pro forma” basis at 9 a.m. Saturday, March 21 in the parking lot at Curtis Elementary School in Weatherford. Delegates are encouraged not to attend, but instead to pre-register as a delegate and submit resolutions through the state party’s online system. Kay Parr
  • Walk Across Texas, a program sponsored by the Texas A&M Agricultural Extension Service, helps promote physical fitness and does not require close contact with others. https://howdyhealth.org

Businesses:

  • Brookshire's in Willow Park has modified its business hours. Business hours will be from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

  • Vehicle Registration - Governor Abbott has waived certain vehicle registration, titling, and parking placard regulations. Online vehicle registration is still available.
