Both Aledo High School soccer teams defeated Chisholm Trail in District 6-5A soccer matches played Friday night.

Ladycats 5, Lady Rangers 0

Aledo senior forward Ashley Ray scored the first two goals and the Ladycats never looked back in a 5-0 win over Chisholm Trail at Bearcat Stadium.

Ray’s first goal was unassisted, while Grace Ornelas had the helper on Ray’s second goal.

The Ladycats stretched their lead to 3-0 on a goal by Krista Thrasher with an assist from Riley Sanders. Aledo extended its lead to 4-0 when Thrasher booted a corner kick toward the box and Hunter Jones leaped high and found the back of the net with a header. The Ladycats led 4-0 at the half.

The Ladycats closed the scoring in the second half when with 26:43 left to play Cheney Huddleston scored on a penalty kick.

Senior goalkeeper Makenzie Covington earned the shutout, turning back six Lady Rangers’ shots.

Bearcats 3, Rangers 1

At Ranger Stadium, Aledo broke open a close game with a pair of second-half goals as the Bearcats ran past Chisholm Trail, 3-1.
