Rosson drives in four runs, Fingar records three hits to lead first-place Bearcats to 12-2 victory over Northwest

Hunter Rosson drove in four runs and Nathen Fingar collected three hits to lead the Aledo Bearcats to a 12-2 victory over the Northwest Texans Friday night in a District 6-5A baseball game at Northwest High School.

The win raises the Bearcats district record to a sparkling 4-0, while the Texans drop to 2-2.

Aledo, taking advantage of eight Northwest errors, scored a run in the second inning, six in the third, one in the fifth and four in the sixth. The contest was called after six innings on run rule.

Starter Trevor Brossette was the winning pitcher, allowing two runs on three hits with three walks and five strikeouts in four innings. Trevor Bruno pitched two shutout innings in relief, allowing no runs on two hits with one walk and three strikeouts.

The Bearcats put the game away with six runs in the third frame. Northwest walked six batters in the third, and the big hit was a two-RBI double by Rosson. Northwest walked two batters with the bases loaded, another run was scored on a wild pitch and another Bearcat crossed the plate after a Texans' error.

In Aledo's four-run sixth, the big hit was a double by Jacob Arizpe that drove in a pair of runs.

The Bearcats will continue district play at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at home against Boswell.
