Aledo soccer teams in playoff doubleheader today at Denton; Bearcat Relays, district softball, baseball also in action

Both the District 6-5A champion Aledo High School soccer teams will not only begin the 2017 playoffs today, but at the same venue as well.

Both bi-district playoff matches will be held at Denton High School’s Bronco Stadium, 1007 Fulton Street in Denton.

The Ladycats, the top seed from 6-5A, will face Denton Ryan, the fourth seed from District 5-5A. Kickoff is at 6 p.m.

The Bearcats, also a top seed, will face fourth-seeded Sherman from District 5-5A. The match will begin at approximately 8 p.m.

There is plenty of other Aledo sports action on tap today.

The Ladycats and Bearcats will host the annual Bearcat Relays at Bearcat Stadium. Field events begin at 3:15 p.m., the 3,200-meter run is at 4 p.m. and running finals start at 5 p.m.

Also, Aledo High School continues District 6-5A softball and baseball action today at Northwest High School.

The Ladycats softball game will start at 6:30 p.m., and the Bearcats baseball game’s first pitch will be at 7:30 p.m.
