Ladycats continue 6-5A play today at home against Northwest

Looking to move to 7-1 in District 6-5A to keep pace with first-place Boswell, the state-ranked No. 15 Aledo Ladycats will face the No. 24 Northwest Lady Texans today in a key league match.

The first serve is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at the Aledo High School gym.

The freshman and junior varsity matches will begin at 5:30 p.m.

The Ladycats (28-8, 6-1 in 6-5A) swept Northwest (5-2) in the first meeting between the two teams in the 6-5A opener. The Ladycats are coming off a sweep Friday over Saginaw, while Northwest is coming off a win over Brewer.

In other 6-5A action today, Boswell travels to Chisholm Trail; Eaton hosts Saginaw; and Brewer is at Azle.

In the Ladycats' 25-14, 25-13, 25-23 sweep over Saginaw on Friday, Maddie Goings led all hitters with 14 kills while also recording 12 digs. Libero Allegra Rivas led the team in digs with 18.

Setter Erin Weiss registered a match-high 28 assists, and hitter Amanda Norman led the team at the service line with four aces.
