Reports of a shooting at New River Fellowship in Hudson Oaks this morning are false. During the 9:30 a.m. service, a car was speeding through the parking lot, and would not stop for security personnel.
Hudson Oaks Police were called and the situation was controlled. During the church service, the term "shooting through the parking lot" was used, referring to the speed of the vehicle.
That terminology was mis-interpreted, and rumors have taken on a life of their own. There was no shooting at the church.
