The East Parker County Library will host a summer reading event at 10:30 a.m. each Friday from June 8 through July 20. Each session is followed by a craft. The library is located at 201 FM 1187 N. in Aledo. For more information call 817-441-6545.

The Friends of the East Parker County Library will present the ninth annual Garden Party from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 19 at the AJ Hood pioneer home, 1279 Jenkins Road. Activities will include a book sale, BBQ lunch, music by Clear Fork Jazz, flower gifts, children’s activities and the popular flower hat contest. The eighth annual East Parker County Library Garden Party has been scheduled for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 21 at the AJ Hood Pioneer Home on Jenkins Rd. The event features a festive lunch under the trees, childrens’ activities and music by Clear Fork Jazz. All proceeds benefit the East Parker County Library. For more information, call 817-291-3952.
Anita Bond to be honored
Anita Bond was the East Parker County Library’s first director in 1994. On May 21 she will receive the Never Give Up Award for outstanding work of an individual in support of EPC Library.
The award will be presented at the library’s eighth annual Garden Party.
