East Parker County Library Garden Party

The East Parker County Library’;s annual fundraiser, "Garden Party on the Prairie: Celebrating 25 Years in East Parker County," will be Saturday, May 31 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the A. J. Hood Pioneer Home.
Music will be provided by Clear Fork Jazz.
There will be art for children and teens, stories under the trees, croquet, horseshoes and games, a book walk, book sale, silent auction items, great food, and summer reading program sign-up.
All proceeds benefit the non-profit East Parker County Library.

Library historic book tour

The East Parker County Library is hosting a Parker County Sketchbook Tour of significant historic sites Saturday, March 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Tickets, which include a map of the route, are for sale at the library, $10 per individual or $25 per car.
The tour will be self-paced and will include “Stop and See” and “Stop and Do” sites. A separate bike route is also available.
The tour gets under way at the library in downtown Aledo.
Subsequent stops include Tunnel Road and Underwood Cemetery, Log Cabin at the A.J. Wood home, El Chico Ranch/Lodge, Willow Springs Cemetery, Doss Heritage and Cultural Center, Holland Lake Park, Annetta United Methodist Church, Parker County Cowboy Church, Red Rock Gym at Vandagriff Elementary and Front Street in Aledo.
Some sites will include information, food and fun events.
The One Book/One Community project is a nationwide effort to develop a community of readers by encouraging residents to all read the same book.
EPCL selected the book by local author Homer Norris, which was hand-written and illustrated, that delves into some of the history of the East Parker County area.
Proceeds from the tour benefit the services of the library.

Garden Party

The 10th Annual Garden Party benefiting the East Parker County Library will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 1 at the AJ Hood Pioneer Home, 1279 Jenkins Road in Aledo.

Kristin Bryan, Aledo author of “Bearcats' Path to Victory,” will read to children at the 10:30 story time on Friday, Feb. 15 at the East Parker County Library. In addition, copies of her new book will be available for purchase and signing.

Giving Day: The East Parker County Library will receive matching funds from Donor Bridge Sept. 13, designated as North Texas Giving Day. On that day, from 7 a.m. until midnight, anyone can visit www.DonorBridgeTX.org and make a minimum $25 donation to the East Parker County Library. The library will receive a share of one million dollars set aside as matching funds for non-profit organizations.
