Culpepper and Merriweather Circus, the first circus to visit Aledo, will hold two shows at 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26 in Bearcat Park. The city wanted an old-fashioned, big top circus for the event.

Tina Stevens, the food and nutrition leader for Aledo 4-H, said 175 tickets will be handed out for free to economically disadvantaged students as determined by Aledo ISD. She said she still needs help providing free adult tickets for the children's parents. Businesses or individuals interested in sponsoring adult tickets may contact City Hall.

Circus events include high wire stunts and animal acts with lions, tigers, bird and dogs. Games, a bouncy house and pony rides are also available. For more information, call Aledo City Hall at 817-441-7016.
