Food Handlers Food Safety Training

Texas AgriLife Extension Service of Parker County will offer three food handlers classes. One will be held on Monday, February 14, 2011; Wednesday, February 16, 2011 and the other class will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2011. The trainings each day will begin at 4:00 p.m. and will end at 6:00 p.m. You only have to attend one to receive certification.

Food Managers Certification Training in Weatherford

Texas AgriLife Extension Service of Parker County will offer a one-day food manager certification training course, Food Safety: It’s Our Business, for food service managers on Monday, February 28, 2011. The training will begin at 8:00 a.m. with the examination being administered at 5:00 p.m. The course will take place the Parker County Agricultural Services Center, located at 604 North Main Street in Weatherford.

Free Parenting and Nutrition Series

Texas AgriLife Extension Service of Parker County will conduct a parenting workshop series from 6:30 - 8 p.m. beginning Tuesday, Jan. 18. Additional sessions will be Jan. 25, Feb. 1 and Feb. 22 at the Parker County Agricultural Service Center, 604 North Main Street in Weatherford.  The curriculum will be “How to Become a Love and Logic Parent. Topics will cover Raising Responsible Kids, the Love and Logic Formula, C Stands for Control, Ownership of the Problem, Thinking and Decision Making and Consequences. Each class will also include a lesson on feeding children and will include: Keeping Kids Health, Shopping Strategies for Healthy Eating and Keeping your Kids Safe and Food Safety.

Money Management Class

Texas AgriLife Extension Service of Parker County will conduct a money management class from 2-4 p.m. Monday, Jan. 24 at the Parker County Agricultural Services Center, 604 North Main Street in Weatherford. Managing Your Money is free of charge and is a course that will help you to better stretch your dollars. The topics will include: Values, Needs and Wants, Developing a Spending Plan, Money Management, Wise Use of Credit, Consumer information and Stretching Your Food Dollars. The class is open to anyone and will help people in bankruptcy, debt or anyone who wants to know how to better manage their money. For more information, call the extension office at 817-598-6168.
