Manage Your Money Class

Texas AgriLife Extension Service of Parker County will conduct a money management class on Monday, March 28 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Parker County Agricultural Services Center, located at 604 North Main Street in Weatherford. The topics will include: Values, Needs and Wants, Developing a Spending Plan, Money Management, Wise Use of Credit, Consumer Information and Stretching Your Food Dollars. The class is open to anyone and will help people in bankruptcy, debt, or anyone who wants to know how to better manage their money. Managing Your Money is free of charge.

Parker County Master Gardener Association Plant Sale

The Parker County Master Gardener Association will have its Annual Spring Plant Sale from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 9 at Texas AgriLife Extension Service Office. There will also be a rainwater harvesting demonstration. For more information go to www.pcmg-texas.org.

Parker County 4-H Adventure Camp

Parker County 4-H will be hosting the Parker County 4-H Adventure Camp March 16-18 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. This camp is open to youth ages 8-12 and will cost $35/camper to participate. Join us for three fun filled mornings where campers will take part in fishing demonstrations, knot tying, wildlife ID, and hands on activities and crafts. Campers will test their abilities in the Animal Olympics by going toe to toe, wing to wing and hoof to hoof against wildlife found in Texas. They will learn new skills and safety practices that will be useful on camping and fishing trips, the impact of the footprints they leave in nature and how to explore their own backyards. Spaces are limited; your spot will be reserved once payment is received.

Food Handlers Food Safety Training

Food Managers Certification Training in Weatherford

Texas AgriLife Extension Service of Parker County will offer a one-day food manager certification training course, Food Safety: It’s Our Business, for food service managers on Monday, February 28, 2011. The training will begin at 8:00 a.m. with the examination being administered at 5:00 p.m. The course will take place the Parker County Agricultural Services Center, located at 604 North Main Street in Weatherford.

Free Parenting and Nutrition Series

Texas AgriLife Extension Service of Parker County will conduct a parenting workshop series from 6:30 - 8 p.m. beginning Tuesday, Jan. 18. Additional sessions will be Jan. 25, Feb. 1 and Feb. 22 at the Parker County Agricultural Service Center, 604 North Main Street in Weatherford.  The curriculum will be “How to Become a Love and Logic Parent. Topics will cover Raising Responsible Kids, the Love and Logic Formula, C Stands for Control, Ownership of the Problem, Thinking and Decision Making and Consequences. Each class will also include a lesson on feeding children and will include: Keeping Kids Health, Shopping Strategies for Healthy Eating and Keeping your Kids Safe and Food Safety.

Money Management Class
