Parker County Republican Women is hosting a Candidate Forum on at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 8 at the Doss Heritage and Culture Center in Weatherford. Candidates for State and U.S. Senate will be given the opportunity for a brief address to the audience with a brief time of questions and answers. Tickets are $15. Mrs. Kimberly Olson, Colonel, United States Air Force retired, the Executive Director of Grace After Fire, will be the featured guest at the monthly meeting of Parker County Republican Women at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 9 at the Doss Heritage and Culture Center in Weatherford.
Grace After Fire is a Texas-based non-profit organization dedicated to providing outreach to all women veterans and their families, offering confidential peer support and increasing access to appropriate trauma, mental health, addiction, and community services. Olson also serves as a trustee on the Weatherford ISD School Board, which was recently recognized as “Outstanding Board of the Year for Texas.” Her most recent educational experience included working as the HR Director for Dallas Independent School System, the second largest school district in Texas. Known for her global perspective, she has been the keynote speaker throughout the country and appeared on C-Span, international and local TV and radio shows. After more than two decades of serving her nation, she makes her home in Weatherford.

The PCRW will host State Representative Phil King at the group’s monthly luncheon at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 8 at the Doss Heritage Center in Weatherford. King represents the people of Parker and Wise counties in the Texas Legislature. He has earned a reputation as a principle-driven conservative who consistently provides key leadership in passing some of Texas’ most sweeping public policy legislation. Kelly Shackelford, president and CEO of Liberty Institute, will be the speaker at the regular meeting of Parker County Republican Women at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 8 at the Doss Heritage and Culture Center in Weatherford.
A constitutional scholar, Mr. Shackelford has argued before the United States Supreme Court, testified before the U.S. House and Senate on Constitutional issues, and has won three state landmark First Amendment and religious liberty cases in the past few years alone.
He was recently named one of the 25 greatest Texas lawyers of the past quarter-century by Texas Lawyer, and is the recipient of the prestigious William Bentley Ball Award for Life and Religious Freedom Defense for his leadership and pioneering work protecting religious freedom.

Parker County Republican Women will welcome Lt. Col. Borah Van Dormolen at their monthly meeting at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 11 at the Doss Heritage and Cultural Center in Weatherford. Van Dormolen is an accomplished soldier, businessperson, Republican political leader, legislative advocate, athlete, and community leader.
She will speak to the club regarding the important legislative changes regarding the primary date. Social time begins at 11 a.m.

Dr. Virginia Armstrong
Dr. Virginia Armstrong, of the Blackstone Institute, will be the featured speaker at the May 12 meeting of Parker County Republican Women. The meeting will begin at 11:30 a.m. at the Doss Heritage Center in Weatherford.
According to a release from PCRW, “Dr. Armstrong will motivate the audience to engage in defending the Constitution. Blackstone Workshops offer a unique blend of the academic and the activist, believing that both are absolutely essential to a Constitutionalist victory in America’s Culture War.”
