Parker County Republican Women will have as their guest speaker March 13 Loren Spivack.
Spivack, “The Free Market Warrior,” was born and raised in Massachusetts and spent most of his adult life in New York City. Before becoming active in politics, Spivack worked for several non-profits and as a management consultant for profit and non-profit companies.
Spivack founded “Free Market Warrior” in 2009 in an effort to make a positive difference in American politics and economics.
His “Free Market Warrior” store was expelled from Concord Mills Mall in North Carolina in July 2009 for selling material critical of the Obama administration. Mall owners, Simon Property Group, are major Democratic donors. Since then Spivack has devoted his time to teaching conservative groups about free market economics. He conducts "Economic Literacy" seminars across the United States. Spivack has delivered his famous seminar on “Economic Literacy” to more than 200 groups in 20 states.
Spivack is also the author of “The New Democra,t” a parody history of the Obama administration, based on a famous children's book. With pitch-perfect rhyme and clever illustrations, "The New Democrat” transforms the political personalities of the times into cartoon characters in a conservative morality play.

The Parker County Republic Women will hold their monthly meeting Thursday, Feb. 13 at the Doss Heritage and Culture Center at 1400 Texas Dr., the corner of E. Park Ave & Texas St. Lunch will begin being served at 11:30 a.m., and the business meeting will start at noon. The lunch and meeting are open to the public. The speaker for February has had to cancel, and the group is inviting all county Republican candidates to attend and give a brief presentation.

Parker County Republican Women's meeting is Thursday, Jan. 9 at the Doss Heritage and Culture Center. Matt Armstrong from True the Vote will be the guest speaker. The Parker County Republican Women will host David Watts and David Orcutt at the November luncheon meeting on Nov. 13 at the Doss Heritage and Culture Center.
David Watts, Republican Candidate for Texas Land Commissioner, is a businessman with more than 22 years experience solving business problems, helping organizations become more efficient and empowering them to reinvent themselves to better serve their clients. Mr. Watts is also a family man, novelist, pilot, preacher and teacher.
The other candidate for Texas Land Commissioner, George P. Bush, is not able to attend the November meeting, but the Republican Women look forward to hosting him in the future.
The second guest speaker is David Orcutt. Mr. Orcutt has 12 years of healthcare management experience and will be talking about the Weatherford Regional Medical Center, its services, new doctors and programs.

State Sen. Craig Estes will be the speaker at the monthly meetiong of Parker County Republican Women at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 8. Lunch will begin at 11:30 a.m., and the business meeting will start at noon at the Doss Heritage and Culture Center, 1400 Texas Dr. in Weatherford.
Estes was first elected to the State Senate in a 2001 Special Election, and then re-elected in 2002, 2004 and 2008. He is the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Rural Affairs and Homeland Security as well as Vice Chairman for the Senate Natural Resources Committee. He also serves as a member of the Senate Finance and Business and Commerce Committees.
Estes has been appointed by Governor Rick Perry to serve on the Southern States Biobased Alliance and to the Western States Water Council. Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst appointed Senator Estes to the Agriculture and Rural Development Committee of the Southern Legislative Conference of the Council for State Governments, and Agriculture and Energy Committee for the National Conference for State Legislators.
Senator Estes serves on the Bioenergy Policy Council, which was created through his legislative efforts to expand research and development of domestically produced alternative fuels to promote economic growth, and reduce our dependence on foreign energy.

State Rep. Phil King will be the featured speaker for the Parker County Republican Women at a luncheon meeting at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, June 8 the Doss Heritage and Culture Center in Weatherdord.
King will share his insights on the last Legislative Session, and what can be expected to occur during the Special Session called By Governor Perry.King has represented Parker County for 14 years. Robert Parten of Elections Administration will speak Thursday, April 11, at The Doss Heritage and Culture Center on Texas Street as part of the Parker County Republican Women's monthly meeting.
Parten will speak on the Voting Rights Act and how it will affect Parker County if it is invalidated or limited, how to protect the integrity of absentee balloting, and other issues facing valid elections in the United States.
Parten has been with Parker County since January 2008. Prior to coming to Parker County, Parten worked in Tarrant County and has 45 years of elections experience. Parten is a certified C.E.R.A. (Certified Election Registration Administrator), and was the first in the United States to receive this certification. He has assisted the U.S. State Department with the conduct of democratic elections in Bosnia, Croatia, Albania and the Republic of Srpska.

Parker County Sheriff Larry Fowler and Weatherford Police Chief Mike Manning will outline the challenges facing them, and explain how they coordinate their efforts to provide protection for the citizens of Weatherford and Parker County at the next meeting of the Parker County Republican Women at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, March 14, at The Doss Heritage and Culture Center. Manning took over leadership of the Weatherford Police Department in 2009, following a 31 year career with the Fort Worth PD. Sheriff Fowler began his law enforcement career in 1965 with the Weatherford Police Department, followed by 24 years with the US Marshal Service, service with the Parker County Crimes Commission, Chief Deputy of the Parker County Sheriffs Department, Criminal Investigator for the Parker County District Attorney. He was elected Parker County Sheriff in 2005.
