Weatherford High School’s 2011 Homecoming will be September 30, 2011.
Brewer Meet: The Weatherford Girls Power Lifting Team finished second at Monday’s Weatherford Girls Power Lifting Invitational held at the Out Back. Coach Jamie Tharp said the second-place finish was just two points behind Mineral Wells. WHS power lifters Olivia Bennett and Minden Sigman placed first in their weight divisions, while Maddison Kolb took second and Ann Todd placed third in their weight divisions. Tharp said the girls will travel to Mineral Wells on Jan. 31 for their next competition.

The WHS Winter Guard competed against 11 other schools in its classification and placed first with a score of 76.7. The WHS team was also 12 points ahead of the second-place team. Weatherford High School Director of Bands Joe Dolkos said this was the group’s first contest of the year, and they came home with the first place trophy in Regional AA. As a result of this outstanding win, the WHS Winter Guard has been bumped up two classes to Scholastic AAA.

Last fall, approximately 627 high schools participated in event. Out of a possible 2000-point perfect score, the WHS Whiz Quiz team earned 1,290 points.
Everyone is invited to help the Lady Roos Softball team kickoff another great year.
Lady Roos Softball Kickoff banquet will be held Monday, January 24th at 7:00 at the WHS Cafeteria.
Tickets are $5.00 for a spaghetti dinner served by the Olive Garden.
A silent auction will also be occurring, with some great items including Mavs tickets, a coastal fishing excursion, Weatherford College Baseball season passes, and many items from our local businesses.

He’s No. 84 on the field and is a wide receiver. Baylor finished the season with a record of 7-5 and was selected to play Illinois in the 2010 Texas Bowl…earning its first post-season bowl appearance since 1994. McClain is the son of Jamie and Donna McClain.
Weatherford High School's Whiz Quiz team has finished second in the state of Texas following Wednesday's preliminary results for the Fall 2010 Knowledge Master Open.
Approximately 627 schools competed in the event, both national and internationally, and WHS is 191st in the nation.
The overall mean score was 1153, Texas' mean score was 1134, and WHS scored 1290.

18 WHS band members qualify to audition
for All-State Band, 30 members on All-Region Band list
Congratulations to the following WHS Band students for their outstanding performance at the All Region / All-Area Band auditions last Saturday, December 11, at Paschal High School.
This is the most students to qualify for the TMEA All State auditions from the WHS Band in many years.
With this performance, these amazing students have qualified to audition for the 2011 Texas All-State Band at Midland High School in January.
