Weatherford's varsity softball team remains undefeated in District 4-5A play after Friday's 7-1 win over North Crowley.
Senior ace pitcher Jordan Wallace had an outstanding night on the mound striking out 20 Lady Panther batters. She also finished the game with a home run and 4 RBIs.
Other outstanding offensive performances included senior Haleigh Lichti with a double, and freshman Elizabeth Konig with a double.
The Lady Roos' overall record is now 15-9 and 8-0 in district play.
Weatherford will host Arlington Lamar today at 5:30 p.m. for the varsity game, and 7:30 for the junior varsity matchup.
Weatherford High School’s tennis team is sponsoring a free car wash Saturday, April 16, in the Taco Bell parking lot in Hudson Oaks from 8 a.m. until noon.
Donations are accepted which help pay for trips and scholarships to higher-education universities for WHS senior tennis players.

Weatherford ISD Board members recognized members of the Weatherford High School Winter Guard for placing first with an overall score of 76.7 at the Jan. 22 North Texas Color Guard Association Contest at Arlington Martin High School.
WISD Wrestling Team Recognized
Members of the Weatherford High School wrestling team were recognized by WISD Board Trustees for their outstanding season.
Team accolades include placing third at the Wylie Invitational, first at the Weatherford Outback Invitational, District Dual Champions, and District Runner-Ups.

Members of the Weatherford High School junior varsity cheerleaders for the 2011-12 school year include Lulu Alvorado, Taylor Box, Denisha Bradley, Tyler Davie, Audrey Day, Taylor Duffy, Mia Esquivel, Carly Good, Katelyn Key, and Emily Sanders.
The JV boys, JV girls and freshman boys competed in the Justin Northwest Golf Tournament. The Freshman boys played a great round.
They came in 5th and were competing against not only the other freshman teams but also against the JV teams that were there. They were led by Hunter Dennis with and 85. Evan Sosebee had the left hand low score of 93.
The JV boys also played an outstanding round of golf. They came in 3rd overall with a score of 347. They were led by Jarrett Freeman who shot an 80. He was tied with two other golfers for second but lost in a scorecard playoff and finished 4th overall.
Olivia Tuma competed as the lone JV girl from Weatherford. She also had a pretty good day. She was just a few shots out of receiving a medal despite the 40 mph winds she faced all day.
The Weatherford High School track team ran at Granbury Friday March 25 in a 10-team field. The boys varsity took first with 131 points, and the JV took 4th. The girls side placed 6th, but they were short handed with several athletes still participating in our soccer program.

Barbara Swyryn placed first in Ready Writing and will advance to regional competition. Also, Kelcie Thielepape and Stephanie Recchia also placed in journalism and will move on to regionals.
Weatherford High School's One-Act Play cast and crew were chosen as "alternate show" in last night's UIL District 4-5A competition.
Individual award winners included T.J. Houston, All-Star Cast; Shelbee Milner, All-Star Cast; Zach Crenshaw, Honorable Mention Cast; Katie Gonzales, Honorable Mention Cast; and Kathryn Enslow, Honorable Mention Cast.
WHS Theatre Director Angela Arthurs said Weatherford was tied for earning the most individual medals.
