The 31st line of Blue Belles attended Extreme Dance Camp August 8-10. They received the highest ranking of Platinum as well as 71 excellence ribbons.
Eight Blue Belles were named Extreme Kickers: Sarah Chehade, Shawna Lemottee, Lauren Myers, Destiny Eaton, Elizabeth Fraser, Natalie Hinrichs, Tiffani Trentham, and Haley Barnes.
Four Belles were selected as the top dancers of the camp: Sarah Chehade, Marlee Whitford, Natalie Hinrichs, and Tiffani Trentham.
The Belles are excited about the upcoming school year and cheering on our Roos!

File Photo/The Community NewsSean O’Donnell, a 2011 graduate of Aledo High School, was named to the Texas Sports Writers Association 2011 All-State baseball team as an honorable-mention. O’Donnell was previously named District 5-4A Offensive Player of the Year. He ended his senior season with a .444 batting average and .509 on-base percentage. O’Donnell had five triples, 11 doubles and 29 RBIs in the season.
Weatherford High School shortstop Kevin Cornelius was named to the Texas Sports Writers Association 56-A All-State baseball team for 2011. Cornelius had a .509 batting average, hitting 13 doubles, three triples and six home runs.
Shelbie Box thanks Charlie Gilchrist: Weatherford High School graduate Shelbie Box thanks Charlie Gilchrist of the Southwest Auto Group for a two-year “full ride” scholarship to Weatherford College, covering tuition, fees and books. This year’s Charlie Gilchrist’s Southwest Auto Group Scholarship was earmarked for a WHS senior athlete continuing their education at WC. Box was captain of the WHS tennis team this season, as well as a member of Health Occupations Students of America. She intends to enter WC’s Nursing Program, and has already begun summer classes at the College. Gilchrist serves as a member of the WC Foundation Board of Directors.

GOLD MEDAL WINNERS
Weatherford High School Director of Choral Activities Pat Banks said "Outstanding Performer" is the highest award from the University Interscholastic League and is presented to individuals and teams winning all state championships.
Edward Dealecio: Recent Weatherford High School graduate Edward Dealecio was one of only 256 musicians selected as an Outstanding Performer at the 2011 Texas State Solo-Ensemble Contest. Dealecio, a trombone player, was also selected as Outstanding Senior of the Roo Band during the 2010-11 school year. Richard Floyd, Director of Music for the University Interscholastic League, sent Dealecio a recognition letter as well as a draped medal which is identical to those awarded to state champions in all UIL events. Dealecio will be attending Weatherford College in the fall.
The Weatherford High School English Department is excited to introduce its Pre-AP/AP Summer Reading Program to Weatherford High School students entering grades 10-12. These lists are available on the Weatherford ISD website at http://www.weatherfordisd.com
The Weatherford High School Blue Belles are hosting their 18th annual golf tournament June 11 at Crown Valley.
Cost is $75 for individual players, or a team of four players for $300.
