Durham School Services Donates to WISD: Durham School Services has once again partnered with the Weatherford ISD Education Foundation by donating a $15,000 check which will provide opportunities for teachers to receive grants for additional resources in their classrooms. Since 2000, Durham School Services has donated over $100,000 to the Weatherford ISD Education Foundation. Senior Blue Bell Honored: Senior Shelby Carter was recently selected as a member of the 2011 Texas All-State Dance Team and was one of only six dancers who also received a $1,000 scholarship from the Texas Dance Educators Association. Shelby was one of 160 high school dancers to represent their team and school at the Texas Dance Educators Convention recently held in Houston. These dancers worked with renowned choreographer, Quinton Weathers--best known for his work with Beyonce, Pepsi, Nickelodean, the STEP UP movies as well as other artists and commercial/tv/movie credits.
Weatherford ISD's track kickoff dinner will be Feb. 10 beginning at 6 p.m. in the Ninth Grade Center Cafeteria.
Tickets may be purchased in advance for $5 each by contacting Coach Debra Wood. Ticket prices will increase to $7 each at the door.
For the third consecutive year, Weatherford Regional Medical Center has partnered with Weatherford ISD art classes inviting students to contribute designs for the Weatherford Regional Medical Center Christmas Card. Students from the Ninth Grade Center and WHS submitted entries this year and a panel of judges from Weatherford Regional selected the winners.
Cory Countryman, CEO of Weatherford Regional Medical Center; and Christina McGeHee, Marketing Director, recognized the winners of the Christmas Card Contest at last week's Board meeting.

Today, the PCHD continues to offer flu shots to WISD students, staff, and their families at little or no cost. Since August 2009, over 3,000 students have received immunizations and the cost savings to WISD family members is estimated to be more than $400,000. In addition, the PCHD has given over 1,500 flu shots to WISD students so far this school year. Parker County Hospital District will hold a Flu Vaccine Clinic from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 16 at the Weatherford High School Ninth Grade Center Cafeteria. The cafeteria can be accessed from the north doors.
Vaccines are available to all Parker County residents who are age 4 or older. Cost is $10 for adults; students aged 4-18 are free.
The shot is a Seasonal Flu / H1N1 combination shot.
