The following reports and offenses were taken or observed by the Parker County Sheriff’s Office:

Assault/Domestic Violence
• 7600 block of Sabathaney, the complainant reported she was assaulted by her boyfriend during a dispute.
• 300 block of Chavez Trail, the complainant reported he was assaulted by a family member during an argument.

ID Theft
• 129 Hogle Street, the complainant reported unknown suspect(s) gained access to his checking account and passed several checks to a local business without permission.

Parker County Sheriff’s Lt. Mike Camp said John Mark Moyers, 50, was charged with felony theft after SCU members conducted an investigation and collected evidence of Moyers scamming local businesses out of thousands of dollars for a fake golf tournament.

SCU investigators said Moyers had conducted nearly one dozen similar scams throughout Texas and Arkansas over the last two years.

“During the investigation, our investigators discovered Mr. Moyers was conducting a food drive scam to collect canned foods and cash to benefit area charities and local food banks, but in reality, he was keeping all of the proceeds and using them at his discretion,” Camp said.

The following offenses were observed or reported to the Parker County Sheriff’s Office Wednesday, March 30, through Thursday, March 31, 2011.

Burglary of a Building
• 100 block of Spanish Trail, the complainant reported unknown suspect(s) entered the building and stole a carrying case with a game system.
• 2700 block of Cool Junction Road, the complainant reported unknown suspect(s) entered the building and stole a stove, flashing and a trash compactor.
• 100 block of South FM 1187, the complainant reported unknown suspect(s) entered the building and damaged an ATM, a door and stole cigarettes, camera equipment and an undisclosed amount of currency.

Allegation of missing funds

It has come to the attention of the Parker County Sheriff’s Office of an allegation of missing funds from the Sgt. Rusty Arnold Benefit Fund.
“A preliminary inquiry indicates there is substance to the allegations,” said Parker County Sheriff Larry Fowler. “At this point, the Texas Rangers have been requested to conduct a full and thorough investigation concerning this matter. The Sheriff’s Office will have no further comments pending the outcome of that investigation.”

The following offenses were observed or reported to the Parker County Sheriff’s Office Monday, March 28, through Tuesday, March 29, 2011.

ID Theft
• 129 Hogle Street, the complainant reported unknown suspect(s) gained access to his identifying information and used it to open a credit card account without authorization.
• 129 Hogle Street, the complainant reported a department store contacted him stating an unknown suspect had used his identification to return items to the store.

Criminal Mischief
• 100 block of Highland Court, the complainant reported a known suspect damaged her vehicle.

Parker County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigations Division is investigating a stabbing incident which occurred Sunday, March, 27, 2011.

Parker County Sheriff Larry Fowler said the 9-1-1 call come into dispatch around 8 a.m., in the 4300 block of Tin Top Road, where deputies identified the victim as a 51 year-old male.

The victim reported he and the suspect had been arguing over work-related issues, which escalated to a physical altercation. The victim also reported during the altercation, the suspect, identified as Francisco Silva-Escareno, 30, of Weatherford, threw a knife at the victim, causing a minor laceration to his abdomen.

• 800 block of Monticello the complainant reported unknown suspect(s) entered a trailer and stole wiring.
• 3600 block of Oak Circle, the complainant reported unknown suspect(s) entered the property and stole copper welding wire.
ID Theft
• 129 Hogle Street, the complainant reported unknown suspect(s) gained access to his banking information and used it to make several unauthorized transactions.

The following offenses were observed or reported to the Parker County Sheriff’s Office Tuesday, March 22, 2011.

Criminal Mischief
• 300 block of Gina Circle, the complainant reported a known suspect damaged his vehicle.
• 200 block of Shady Oaks Drive, the complainants reported a known suspect vandalized the side of a residence and three vehicles.
• 6200 block of East Interstate 20, the complainant reported unknown suspect(s) damaged a portion of fence.

Criminal Trespass
• 1300 block of Farmer’s Road, the complainant reported a known suspect had entered the property and wished for a criminal trespass warning to be issued.

Theft of Property
• 1500 block of Newsome Mound Road, the complainant reported unknown suspect(s) entered the property and stole a riding lawn mower.
• 7500 block of FM 1189, the complainant reported unknown suspect(s) entered the property and stole an ATV, a mower, a trailer and a tractor with front loader.
• 2100 block of FM 920, the complainant reported a known suspect stole scrap metal from the property.
• 100 block of Oakley Circle, the complainant reported unknown suspect(s) stole a wedding ring and an undisclosed amount of coins.

PRESS RELEASE

Parker County Sheriff’s investigators served a warrant on Jeffrey Allan Maxwell, 58, of Corsicana, who is currently incarcerated for two counts of aggravated sexual assault and one count of aggravated kidnapping in the Parker County Jail.
The warrant served today is for an arson intend damage to a place of habitation charge, which investigators believe Maxwell set fire to the home of a female victim in Whitt, Parker County, after holding her captive within his home in Navarro County for 13 days.
Sheriff’s investigators said Maxwell kidnapped the woman two days prior to the fire and believe he purposely set the fire to destroy evidence of the kidnapping.
