A possible 50,000 people packed downtown Weatherford for the annual Parker County Peach Festival, and an estimated 2,000 riders took part in the morning's Peach Pedal bike ride on Saturday.

Aledo star running back Johnathan Gray has also been named the Gatorade Texas High School player of the year. He is now in the running to win the national award. Check back tonight for full coverage on Gray and the Bearcats as they take on Stephenville in Waco at Baylor University.
Aledo BasketballThe Ladycats stayed undefeated at home with a 65-31 win over Parker County rival Weatherford Tuesday night and the boys basketball team lost a chance at getting their first win of the season with less than 30 seconds on the clock in a 42-37 loss to Southwest Christian.

Re-rematch against Stephenville next week for Regional crown

Sweetwater, TX- Matthew Bishop passed for a season high four touchdown passes in a 40-14 victory over the Hereford Whitefaces in the region semi-final game played in Sweetwater. The Bearcats will play the Stephenville Yellow Jackets in the regional finals next Friday night at Floyd Casey Stadium in Waco.
Bearcats advance to Area with dominating win

The Aledo Bearcats began their defense of the 4-A Division II State Football Championship with a convincing 56-7 win over the O.D. Wyatt Chaparrals Thursday night at Clark Stadium in Fort Worth. The Bearcats got off to a great start with Jonathan Gray scoring four touchdowns and finishing the first half with 189 rushing yards on only 12 carries. Gray’s final touchdown came on an electrifying 34 yard run to end the half. Quarterback Matthew Bishop completed touchdown passes of 11 yards to Todd Christian and a 77 yard pass to Justin Breshears. Ben Jopling also scored on a one yard run in the first half.
Aledo BearcatsThe Bearcats have the first round of playoffs tonight at 7 p.m. against Fort Worth-O.D. Wyatt High School at Clark Stadium and the Ladycats are in Abilene preparing for their first game of the Regional Tournament which will take place tomorrow at 4 p.m. at McMurry University.
