The Parker County Women’s and Newcomers Group will meet at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 14, at Texas Hall, Alkek Fine Arts Center at Weatherford College. The program will be presented by Meg Hacker, Director of the Regional Archives, which is a part of the National Archives in Fort Worth. Hacker will speak on "The Life of Cynthia Parker." The Parker County Women's and Newcomer's Club will host its annual fundraiser, the Scholarship Luncheon and Style Show, at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 10, at the Alkek Center at Weatherford College. The cost will be $20. For reservations, call 817-594-5127 by May 5. The public is welcome. Proceeds will help provide a scholarship for a non-traditional female student attending Weatherford College. Fort Worth Star-Telegram Watchdog Columnist Dave Lieber will be the featured speaker at the Parker County Women's and Newcomers Club meeting at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan 11 at the Alkek Fine Arts Building on the Weatherford College Campus.
Lieber, will talk about his new book, "Bad Dad." He will present it as a one-man play. It's a true story about him. A mystery. A thriller.
Take your worst 10 minutes of any day. Imagine that what you believed to be a private matter is now broadcast to the world. What you did is featured on the TV news, in newspapers and on radio talk shows. Everybody has an opinion about whether you are a good person or a bad person. Then the police come looking for you.
It's a story about how the world has changed; how the old ways don't always apply ... how at any time, any place, it could happen to you.
