Canyon West Clubhouse Weatherford Christian School will host its 10th Annual Faith Promise Dinner beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2. First National Bank President Lin Bearden will emcee the evening. Copper Creek Restaurant will cater and minister, author and inspirational speaker Don Piper will deliver the keynote address. Last year’s event raised over $120,000 of which enables the school to keep non-denominational Christian education affordable for families in Parker County. Mr. Piper is best known for his New York Times bestselling book 90 Minutes in Heaven: A True Story of Death and Life. The book tells Don’s personal story of how he was killed in a horrific car crash in 1989 but through the power of prayer by another minister for 90 minutes he was actually given a second chance at life. He would spend the next 13 months and 34 major surgeries, including some never before attempted in the United States, trying to regain the life he once knew. Mr. Piper has shared his story of hope and healing across the globe including to audiences from NBC’s Today Show, Dateline NBC, ABC’s Nightline, FOX Network’s Sean Hannity’s America and The O’Reilly Factor.
