The Greater Metro West Association of Realtors Home & Living Fair will be from 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27 at the Weatherford High School Cafeteria. Information about affordable housing, financing, investing, rental programs and more will be offered, and various educational sessions will be held throughout the day. Texas State Land Commissioner Jerry Patterson will be the featured guest speaker at the Parker County Republican Women’s fundraising event at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 27 at the Doss Heritage and Culture Center. Commissioner Patterson will deliver Texas political information with a dose of reality, hope and humor. The event will include dinner and other activities. Tickets are $75 each or two for $125. The Greenwood Farm Fall Horse Trials, presented by Charlie Gilchrist’s Southwest Ford, will be on Friday, Oct. 12 through Sunday, Oct. 14 at 2100 Greenwood Road, Weatherford. Dressage will be from 12-5 p.m. on Friday. Dressage, stadium jumping and cross-country jumping will be from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday. Stadium jumping and cross-country jumping will be from 8 a.m.-3p.m. on Sunday. Admission is free, and food and tack vendors will be on the grounds. Bill Eastman Plaque Dedication
Members of the community will dedicate a plaque to the memory of Bill Eastman at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23 at Brown Cemetery in Aledo. Eastman spent 28 years as a caretaker at the cemetery, and was one of the pillars of the Aledo community.
The Parker County Bulls 9-year-old baseball team will host a golf tournament at 1 p.m. on Thursday, September 20 at Split Rail Golf Course in Aledo. Cost is $90 per player. Fee includes lunch provided by Chicken Express, driving range, cart and green fee. Format is 4-person scramble with a shot gun start. For more information or to register call 817-550-3872.
The Aledo ISD Ex-Student Association Banquet will be on Oct. 13 at the Don Daniel Ninth Grade Center on Bailey Ranch Road. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. The meal will be served at 7 p.m. Dinner and dues ($3) will be $15 each. There will be a silent auction with proceeds to go to the scholarship fund. All ex-students are encouraged to attend. The homecoming game will be Oct. 12, against O.D. Wyatt from Fort Worth.
