She’s been dodging the autumn weather patterns for the annual September 30 –Oct. 2 horse trials since 1995.
Last year, competitors at the challenging “horse triathlon” event even endured a rare flash flood. The conditions for this fall’s event have only one thing for certain: excitement is guaranteed.
For the first time, 250 competitors from Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and western Louisiana will gather at Greenwood Farm in Weatherford for the United States Equestrian Association’s nationally recognized Area V Championships.

Registration for the new Aledo dance team “Just for Kix” will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17 and from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22 at the Aledo Community Center. The TEA Party Patriots of Parker County will hold a 9/11 commemoration rally from 7-8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10 at the Weatherford College outside pavilion. The rally will honor fire fighters, EMS personnel and law enforcement.

The Hunter Education Course will be offered from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, August 20 and 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, August 21 at First Baptist Church of Aledo.
