Dominic Genetti/The Community News: Students at Stuard Elementary were given a presentation by local Drug Enforcement Agency officers for red ribbon week. Students were told about different situations that officials run into on a daily basis to stop drug activity.

Aledo junior running back Johnathan Gray rushed for a career-high 303 yards and scored five touchdowns to lead the Class 4A No. 1 Bearcats to a 63-17 victory over Boswell Friday night in a District 5-4A contest at Bearcat Stadium.
The win raises the Bearcats record to 7-0, and 4-0 in 5-4A, while Boswell drops to 3-1 in district play.
Aledo BearcatsThe Bearcats lead Boswell 43-10 at the half. At that time, Johnathan Gray had 13 carries for 179 yards and 3 touchdowns. Bishop was 9 for 12 for 173 yards and two touchdowns. Rushing, Bishop had four carries for 59 yards and one touchdown.
At the half the Bearcats rushed for 238 yards and passed 173 for a total of 411 yards. Click below to watch halftime highlights.
Texas RangersStudents had special guests at Trinity Christian Academy Friday afternoon. Grandparents were allowed to come in and experience a school day with their grandchildren.
Students also dressed up in celebration of the Texas Rangers' winning the division series playoffs over the Tampa Bay Rays. The Rangers now play the New York Yankees for the American League Pennant. If Texas wins, it would be the first trip to the World Series in the franchise's 49-year history. Click below to see pictures from the day's events.

Paced by junior running back Johnathan Gray's 248 yards rushing and four touchdowns, the state-ranked No. 1 Aledo Bearcats had little trouble in a 66-9 victory over Trophy Club Byron Nelson Friday night in a District 5-4A contest at Northwest ISD Stadium.
The win raises the No. 1 Bearcats overall mark to 6-0, and 3-0 in 5-4A. Aledo will continue district play at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 15, at home against Boswell.
