Aledo BasketballThe Ladycats stayed undefeated at home with a 65-31 win over Parker County rival Weatherford Tuesday night and the boys basketball team lost a chance at getting their first win of the season with less than 30 seconds on the clock in a 42-37 loss to Southwest Christian.

Re-rematch against Stephenville next week for Regional crown

Sweetwater, TX- Matthew Bishop passed for a season high four touchdown passes in a 40-14 victory over the Hereford Whitefaces in the region semi-final game played in Sweetwater. The Bearcats will play the Stephenville Yellow Jackets in the regional finals next Friday night at Floyd Casey Stadium in Waco.

The Aledo Bearcats will advance to the Division II-4A Regionals for Region 1 after defeating the Waco Lions 70-35 at Bearcat Stadium Friday Night.
Junior star running back Johnathan Gray rushed for 212 yards and scored six touchdowns for Aledo. Fellow junior and starting quarterback Matt Bishop completed nine of 12 passes for 181 yards and two touchdowns. Bishop also rushed for 83 yards on nine carries.
Justin Breshears caught three passes for 92 yards and two touchdowns.

Bearcats advance to Area with dominating win

The Aledo Bearcats began their defense of the 4-A Division II State Football Championship with a convincing 56-7 win over the O.D. Wyatt Chaparrals Thursday night at Clark Stadium in Fort Worth. The Bearcats got off to a great start with Jonathan Gray scoring four touchdowns and finishing the first half with 189 rushing yards on only 12 carries. Gray’s final touchdown came on an electrifying 34 yard run to end the half. Quarterback Matthew Bishop completed touchdown passes of 11 yards to Todd Christian and a 77 yard pass to Justin Breshears. Ben Jopling also scored on a one yard run in the first half.
Aledo BearcatsThe Bearcats have the first round of playoffs tonight at 7 p.m. against Fort Worth-O.D. Wyatt High School at Clark Stadium and the Ladycats are in Abilene preparing for their first game of the Regional Tournament which will take place tomorrow at 4 p.m. at McMurry University.
