Parker County’s Angel Tree, which celebrates the lives of victims of violent crime, will be trimmed during a Christmas program from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 6 at Freedom House, 1149 Fort Worth Highway, in Weatherford. There will be cookies and wassail, soft Christmas music by Leanna Trussel and the opportunity to add an ornament to the tree in honor of a loved one. Casa Parker County will have Breakfast with Santa from 8 to 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 3 at Central Christian Church, 1602 S. Main Street, Weatherford. There will be a Mrs. Claus Story Corner, crafts, and hayrides. Children 12 & Under at $10 (Includes photo with Santa). Adults are $5. All proceeds benefit Casa Parker County. United Way of Parker County has a regular Parker County Community Resource Group meeting every 3rd Thursday of the month at 1:15 p.m. in the Weatherford Public Library. The first annual Aledo Thanksgiving Trot, to benefit long-time Aledo ISD nurse Marcia Walters, is being held on Thursday, Nov. 24 at 505 South Point Ct. A 1-mile fun run will begin at 8 a.m. and a 5k race begins at 8:30 a.m. Fees are $25 for adults and $15 for children and includes a T-shirt. Friends of Eric Willoughby are hosting a fundraising bowling tournament at 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6 at Cityview Lanes, 6601 Oakmont in Fort Worth. Registration fee is $20 before Aug. 6, and $25 on the date of the event, and includes two games of bowling per person. The top three averages receive prizes. A silent auction will also be held at the event. Proceeds will go to the Willoughby family to assist with medical expenses for cancer treatment. Special Olympics Texas will have the 5th Annual Steaks & Stetsons from 6 p.m. to midnight on August 20 at the Hyatt Regency at DFW Airport.
There will be live entertainment, live and silent auctions, a VIP reception and more. This year’s co-chairs are State Representatives Barbara Nash and Diane Patrick. Sonny Burgess and his band will entertain throughout the evening.

The 2011 Relay for Life of East Parker County will be Saturday and Sunday, May 14 and 15 from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. at Aledo High School. For more information visit www.relayforlife.org/eastparkercotx.
On Saturday, May 14 at 3:10 p.m. will be the Alzheimer Awareness Night at the Texas Rangers Ballpark in Arlington with a pre-game concert starring TobyMac at 1 p.m.

Come out and enjoy a fun filled day of Skeet Shooting, raffles, live auction, dinner and a band for $50 entry fee. This events helps raise funds for a team of woman walking in the 3-day 60 mile walk benefiting the Susan G. Komen 3-Day walk for a cure. This year we have a team of 6 walkers!
