Crowley 40, Weatherford 8

The Kangaroos (1-4, 0-1 in District 3-6A) lost their league opener at Crowley on Sept. 26.

Offensive leaders for Weatherford were Cutter Kennedy 11-of-25 passing for 98 yards with a TD and three interceptions, Brennan Boehl rushed six times for 38 yards, Jakob Hemphill caught four passes for 37 yards and a TD, Brooks Kerbow caught three for 34 yards, and Bryant Davis had three catches for 32 yards.

Weatherford hosts Mansfield Legacy at 7 p.m on Oct. 3.

 

VOLLEYBALL

Lady Roos win twice on road

The Lady Roos traveled to North Crowley and won 3-1 on Sept. 23, followed by a 3-0 sweep at Crowley on Sept. 26. Weatherford is 19-11 overall and 4-1 in District 3-6A.

No individual statistics were available.

The Lady Roos will host Mansfield Legacy at 5:30 p.m on Oct. 3.

 

GOLF

Lady Roos compete in Granbury

The Lady Roos finished eighth in the Harbor Lakes Invitational, hosted by the Granbury Lady Pirates, on Sept. 26-27 at Harbor Lakes Golf Course. They shot a team total of 695 over two rounds.

Weatherford was led by Kennedy Bailey, was 23rd individually with a 169. Ava Cordary was 26th with a 171.

 

CROSS COUNTRY

Boone breaks top 10 in elite meet

The Weatherford Lady Roos and Kangaroos competed in the Cowboy Jamboree at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Okla. on Friday, Sept. 26. Weatherford’s top runner was Remi Boone, who placed seventh individually among varsity girls with a time of 19:12.70.

As a team the Lady Roos were 12th.

Weatherford is competing at the Brewer Invitational on Oct. 3 and in the District 3-6A Meet on Oct. 10.
