Perhaps the most notable performance of all was that of Aledo barrel racer Annabella McNelly. Her late surge brought her a reserve championship (runner-up) in the event after she came into the Finals seeded 12th.
McNelly tallied 126 points, trailing only Bayler Smith of Nocona with 189. Logan Phillips of Springtown was third with 119.
McNelly overcame a slow start in which she posted a time of 14.488 seconds in the opening go-round, earning just seven points. She followed with a time of 14.014 in the second go, scoring 56 points and giving her an aggregate of 28.592, which was second and earned her 63 points.

In team roping, Weatherford’s Shane McCulloch and Brock’s Walker Parkey shared the top spot with 189 points. They improved from a time of 17.841 in the opening go to 12.113 in the second to take the lead and edge the runners-up by seven points.
Paige Bunero of Springtown won breakaway roping with a score of 154, 28 points ahead of her closest competitor, and was fourth in ribbon roping.
Colton Phillips of Springtown held on to win the bull riding title with 140 points, seven ahead of second place.
Hevenli Scribner of Azle placed third in poles and ninth in barrel racing.
Cade Walker of Springtown captured fourth in steer wrestling.
Cainlee Dale of Millsap was fifth in breakaway roping and seventh in team roping.
Phillips was seventh in walk-up goat tying and eighth in ride-up goat tying.
Marli Donegan of Perrin was 10th in breakaway and 12th in barrels.
Andrea Allred of Azle tied for 10th in walk-up goat tying.
Brinley Howard of Springtown was 11th in barrel racing.
Aubrey Lawrence of Azle and Aledo’s Burton Caldwell finished 11th and 12, respectively, in poles.
Marshall Dowdy of Springtown was 12th in team roping.
Lipan won the team championship with 8,624 points, followed by Tolar with 8,246. Springtown was third with 5,919.
