The two victories pushed the Ladycats’ active winning streak to 15 consecutive games and Aledo has yet to drop a set against a district foe. Aledo needs just three more wins to match its win total of 35 from last season, a year that saw the Ladycats reach the state semifinals. In both matches, Aledo recorded a program sweep. The JV won their matches in straight sets (28-26, 25-15, and 25-20, 25-12) while the ninth grade A team recorded sweeps as well (25-16, 25-19, and 25-17, 25-14). The ninth grade B team faced Azle and won 25-9 and 25-22.
Against Chisholm Trail, star junior Kaelee Berkley led the way with 16 kills, 13 digs, four service aces, and one block. Meanwhile, seniors Alyssa Todd and Karsyn Trott tallied 11 kills apiece. Todd added nine digs and two blocks while Trott added a block. Senior setter Sophie Frank and Kailey Hamilton had seven digs apiece and combined for 42 assists while the latter recorded three aces. Kenley Hamilton served an ace, had a team-high 19 digs, and four assists while senior libero Karsyn Evans totaled eight digs and an ace. Senior middle Lily Lufkin recorded three kills and a block while Kennedie Christie finished with two kills.
Against Azle, Berkley again led the charge with 13 kills, 13 digs, two blocks, and one ace while Todd registered 11 kills, a team-high 20 digs, two assists, and one block. Kailey Hamilton totaled 12 assists, eight digs, and two aces while Kenley Hamilton had three digs and an assist. Trott added five kills and two blocks while Christie nabbed a kill and three blocks. Frank finished with 19 assists and seven digs while Evie Revard and Brynleigh Schneider each had a block.
The Ladycats will take the court again at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Brewer.
