The Willow Park Trinity Christian Lady Eagles basketball team began their season in thrilling fashion on Friday, Nov. 15, pulling away late for 60-46 victory over Sacred Heart of Muenster.
With fans on the edge of their seats, the Lady Eagles held a 38-37 lead as they entered the final quarter. But a dominant final stanza performance secured the win and a promising start to their season.
Leading the charge for TCA was junior Emily Ickert, who put on a scoring display, racking up 32 points. Her offensive explosion kept the Lady Eagles in the game, and her leadership was key as TCA pulled away in the closing minutes.
Support came from her teammates, as freshman Alex Ickert contributed 15 points, while senior Ella Cockrum added 7 points. Sophomore Raegan Smith scored 5 points, and freshman Michaela DeVenuto rounded out the scoring with 1 point.
The Lady Eagles weathered Sacred Heart’s challenges in the early stages of the game, and ultimately demonstrated their depth and resilience in the second half.
TCA will be back in action on Friday, Nov. 22, at home against Bethesda Christian at 7 p.m.
