Following another successful season with a deep postseason run, the Aledo Ladycats were once again well-represented in honors from the league’s coaches on the All-District 5-5A Team.
And from the looks of things, there’s plenty of reason to smile when looking ahead to next season as many of the players are returning.
First team selections were juniors Elizabeth Griffin and Tiara Butler, along with sophomore Brooklyn Dempsey.
In all, eight Ladycats were honored, including second team picks Kinley Elms and Ella Isbell, both seniors. Honorable mentions went to senior August Carlone, junior Brenna Clock and sophomore Kate Jackson.
The Ladycats finished second in district with a 10-2 record. Overall, they were 23-12 and advanced to the Region I semifinals (third round) of the playoffs before being eliminated by Amarillo Tascosa.
Earning academic all-district accolades from Aledo were Carlone, Isbell, Elms, Butler, Griffin, Dempsey, Clock, Jackson senior Rebekah Jarrell, senior Peyton Flores, senior McKenna Sweatt, junior Jaylee Owens and junior Mesoma Emeka-Okoye.
