Granbury won the toss and deferred.
Aledo will receive to start the game.
Jonny Carter returns the kickoff out to the Aledo 28 yard line. The drive gets off to a tough start, until a Pate Davis to Caleb Frysinger pass gets the Bearcats a first down at their 40 yard line.
A third down Davis to Taco Anderson pass gets the ball all the way down to the Pirates 5 yard line. On the next play Pate Davis carries to the left side for Aledo's first points. After the Chance Nevarez PAT, the score is Aledo 7 Granbury 0.
Granbury overcomes a penalty on their first series to make a first down. Aledo's Jonny Carter recovers a Pirate fumble and returns it to the Granbury 23, then Caleb Frysinger has a nice run up the middle. Pate Davis runs 23 yards for another Bearcat touchdown. PAT good, 14-0 Aledo.
Tyson Mauser and Zach Hyles anchor a strong defensive series and the Pirates are forced to punt the ball back to the Bearcats.
Frysinger up the middle for a couple of tough yards and a Bearcat first down. A 15 yard pass to Matthew Hawkins, then a 13 yard Frysinger touchdown run. 21-0 Bearcats after the Nevarez PAT.
The Pirates have some success on their next series, but Gunner Johnson and Jordan Mittie seem to be everywhere the ball is. A big tackle for a loss by Gunner Johnson forces another Granbury punt.
The Bearcats fumble at their 40 yard line and the Pirates get another chance.
The Pirates go for it on a 4th down, but the Bearcat defense holds. Aledo ball at their 42 yard line.
The first play of the Second Quarter is a 58 yard touchdown pass from Pate Davis to Willie Gibson. Nevarez PAT is good, 28-0 Aledo with 11:50 left in the Half.
Granbury is moving the ball down the field. Clayton Lowe makes a big hit at the sideline. Two plays later Gunner Johnson intercepts a pass and returns it to the Aledo 43.
A 57 yard pass to Caleb Frysinger takes care of the rest, and the Bearcats have a 35-0 lead after just 2 minutes have passed in the Second Quarter.
On the next Pirate series the Aledo defense starts to flex their muscles. No yards on 3 plays forces another Granbury punt.
Jonny Carter returns the punt 40 yards for another Bearcat touchdown. It's 42-0 Aledo, still in the Second Quarter.
Another interception, this time by Shea Wood, gets the Bearcats the ball back after just 2 offensive plays for the Grandbury Pirates.
It takes just 3 plays for Aledo to score again on another Caleb Frysinger run. This time 43 yards, for a 49-0 lead after the PAT.
Luke Bishop is in replacing Pate Davis at quarterback. Aaron Vidrine is in at the running back spot. Matt Hawkins is in at the wide out, and he has a nice catch for 14 yards and a Bearcat first down. Two plays later Quanel Williams covers the last 17 yards on a pass from Luke Bishop. 56-0 Bearcats.
It should be obvious from the score, but it's been a stellar effort by the Bearcat offensive line in the first half, as has been the case all year. They have imposed their will.
The defense has pitched a shutout to this point. A total team effort. A great example of execution, on both sides of the ball, for the first 24 minutes.
Granbury has the ball at their own 21 yard line after the kickoff. Nate and Mike Milson, twin brothers, are carrying the ball on alternate plays and moving the ball for a couple of Pirate first downs. They are forced to punt again and the Bearcats take over on their 31 yard line.
The Bearcats have to punt, for the first time tonight, and the Pirates take over at their 25 yard line.
The Aledo defense is up to the task again, and they get the ball back at their own 43 yard line after the punt from Granbury.
Luke Bishop runs for 22 yards for another Bearcat first down at the 35 of the Pirates. Aaron Vidrine runs to the 18 yard line. Chance Nevarez Field Goal attempt is wide left and the Pirates take over at their 20 yard line.
Aledo gets the ball back to start the Fourth Quarter. Like Bishop and Aaron Vidrine have most of the work on the drive, and it's a good one, taking time off the clock. They score on a pass from Bishop to Matthew Hawkins to make the score 63-0 Aledo with about 6 minutes left to play.
The Bearcat defense holds the Pirates to a couple of first downs, and preserves the shutout. Aledo will win this one 63-0 as the clock expires.
