Jonny Carter returns the ball to the 40 yard line. The next play is a 60 yard touchdown pass from Pate Davis to Taco Anderson. Chance Nevarez PAT is good and the Bearcats lead 7-0 with less than 30 seconds gone in the 1st quarter.
The Bearcat defense holds and the Cougars punt to Jonny Carter, who returns it to the Aledo 27. Pate Davis to Caleb Frysinger. From 51 yards away another Pate Davis to Taco Anderson Bubble Screen to the right side results in another Bearcat touchdown. PAT is good. 14-0 Aledo with about 8 minutes left in the 1st quarter.
Again, the Bearcat defense is solid. Western Hills' punt rolls to the Aledo 10 yard line.
Jess Anders first carry of the drive is for 34 yards out to the 44 yard line. Caleb Frysinger gets 8 to the 42 and Quanel Williams covers 18 yards to the Western Hills 32 yard line. Jess Anders next carry is for the last 32 yards. Aledo leads 21-0 after the Nevarez extra point.
The Western Hills Cougars are able to overcome a couple of penalties and move the ball out to their 41 yard line with a couple of first downs.
The Bearcats stop the drive before the Cougars get into their end of the field. Jonny Carter returns the Cougar's punt out to the Aledo 33.
Jess Anders carries up the middle all the way to the Western Hills 13 yard line. Caleb Frysinger and the entire offensive line, carry the ball to the 2 for a first down. Caleb Frysinger again over the left side for the Aledo touchdown. The Bearcats lead is now 28-0 in the 2nd quarter.
The Bearcat offensive line is flexing some muscle in the rushing game tonight. They have been just as good in pass protection. I'm going to say this is the Bearcat's best start, on both sides of the ball, for the first 15 minutes of any game so far this season.
A Jonny Carter interception, returned to all the way back to the Cougars 13 yard line. is followed by a Jess Anders touchdown from there. Aledo 35, Western Hills 0 in the 2nd quarter.
The Cougars are moving the ball well into Bearcat territory. Jordan Mittie and Payne Viken combine for a tackle for a two yard loss, but the Cougars manage another first down at the Aledo 28. Western Hills Aaron Stevenson shows why he's leading the district in rushing with over 170 per game. He runs hard.
Jonny Carter has another interception, this time in the Bearcats end zone. He takes a knee and Aledo will have the ball back on the 20 yard line.
Luke Bishop, in at quarterback, has completions to Luke Glover and Quanel Williams for 2 first downs to move the ball out to the 45 yard line.
Jess Anders carries up the middle, then cuts it left all the way to the Cougars 10 yard line. A penalty takes the ball to the 5, then Jess Anders follows Caleb Buchanan into the end zone for another Bearcat score. PAT good. 42-0 Aledo.
Time runs out on the Cougars drive, as the first half ends.
The Western Hills Cougars come out ready in the second half. They move the ball into Bearcat territory with a strong effort in the rushing game.
The drive stalls at that point and a punt to the Bearcats return it to the Cougar 38 yard line on a well blocked play. Special teams have done a nice job tonight for the Bearcats.
A Bearcat fumble on a bad exchange gives the ball back to the Cougars at their 33 yard line.
The Aledo defense holds. The big play, on 3rd down, is a Jared Hinsley tackle that forces the Cougars to punt. Aledo has another offensive opportunity at mid field. Jess Anders carries for another 8 yards. Another carry for 12 yards.
Luke Bishop to Baker Roberson for 15 more yards to the Cougars 15 yard line. Luke Bishop to Quanel Williams for 15 yards and a touchdown. PAT is good and the Bearcats have a 49-0 lead with just over a minute left to go in the 3rd.
The Bearcat defense holds to force a punt. The punt is fumbled and recovered by the Cougars to give them another possession at their own 45 yard line.
Held again, the Cougars punt and a last minute decision to pick it up results in good field position for the Bearcats at their 40 yard line. A Luke Glover catch gives the Bearcats a first down at the Cougars 45 yard line.
A Luke Bishop to John Whatley pass takes Aledo to the Cougars 31. Another 12 yards on an Aaron Vidrine carry gets the ball to the 19. Tristan Williams carries to the three yard line, and again for the touchdown from there. 56-0 Aledo after the PAT.
Starting the next drive at their own 16 yard line, the Cougars will not be able to get a first down. Tyson Mauser stops a run to the right side with a nice open field tackle on third down to force the punt.
Aledo sets up at their 45 yard line with 1:19 left in the game. The Bearcats will run out the clock to end the game with the score Aledo 56, Western Hills 0.
