It's feeling a bit like High School Football weather in Aledo tonight as the sun sets. It's in the high 60's as we get ready for kickoff.
Aledo wins the coin toss and will receive.
A touchback will give the Bearcats the ball on their own 25 yard line, 2 plays later Aledo has another first down at the 37. 3 plays later, unable to move the ball, they punt to Monterrey Tech, fair catch at their 25 yard line.
They are not able to make a first down after a nice tackle for a loss by Jared Hinsley on third down.
Aledo gets the ball back at their 34 yard line. The Bearcats get into Monterrey territory and have a first down on a nice run off the left side by Jess Anders. Another first down on a Pate Davis to John Whatley pass to the Tech 38 yard line. Just over 10 yards on the next 2 plays, first down Aledo at the Tech 27. Another first at the 15 and Caleb Frysinger carries twice for 8 yards. Third and 2 Aledo at the 7. A measurement shows fourth and inches, and a broken play gives Monterrey the ball back on a fumble recovery.
They will work from their own 17 yard line. One first down just over their 27 is all the offense they can manage and Aledo gets the ball back on a punt.
Clayton Lowe brings the punt out to the Aledo 35 yard line. The Bearcats cover 25 yards on a great catch by Caleb Frysinger to the Monterrey 40 yard line. From there, a Pate Davis to Taco Anderson pass gets Aledo on the board. A Chance Nevarez extra point is good and it's 7-0 Aledo.
After receiving the kickoff the Monterrey team moves the ball out to their 45 yard line before time runs out in the first quarter at 7-0.
A pass play to the Aledo 35 and a run left for the last 35 yards gets Monterrey on the scoreboard. Aledo blocks the extra point attempt makes the score 7-6 Bearcats.
Another good return gives Aledo the ball at their 30 yard line. An all out blitz from Tech backs the Bearcats up 7 yards. The Bearcats are unable to move the ball and are forced to punt.
Monterrey works from their own 30 yard line. The Aledo defense allows 3 1/2 yards on the next 3 plays and Monterrey punts the ball back to Aledo, now working from inside Monterrey territory at the 48.
A pass to Caleb Frysinger take the ball down to the 30 yard line. A big penalty on Monterrey sets the Bearcats up at the Tech 15 yard line. Aledo has a first down at the 7 yard line. A pass to Caleb Frysinger scores and Chance Nevarez provides the PAT. Aledo 14 Monterrey 6.
After a long return Monterrey will operate from their 45 yard line. Zach Hyles has a sack, then the Bearcats recover a fumble and will have another chance in Monterrey territory. With the help of a penalty on the defense, Aledo is now at the Monterrey 15 with a first down. Another penalty gets the Bearcats to the 9. A pass to Taco Anderson and a Pate Davis keeper make it third and goal at the 2. Caleb Frysinger runs for the last 2 yards, a Nevarez PAT, and it's now Bearcats 21, Monterrey 6 with 4 minutes left in the first half.
Monterrey has the ball at their own 23. Aledo's defense forces a 3 and out.
The Bearcats will take over at the Monterrey 41 yard line after getting the ball back on a punt. A nice completion to Jess Anders comes back on a penalty. a good sideline pass from Pate Davis to Willie Gibson gives the Bearcats a first down at the Monterrey 13 yard line. Jess Anders to the right side for 7 yards. Caleb Frysinger catches a pass to the 1 yard line, then Jess Anders gets the last yard and 6 points. The PAT is good and the Bearcats now lead Monterrey 28-6.
Monterrey is unable to move the ball and time runs out in the first half with the score Aledo 28 Monterrey 6.
Monterrey Tech will receive to start the second half. They will operate from their 28 yard line.
The Bearcat defense holds and the Bearcats get the ball back on their own 29 yard line.
A pate Davis to Willie Gibson pass gets the Bearcats a first down at their 42. Davis to Taco Anderson for a first down at the Monterrey 43 yard line. That combination works again for another Aledo first down at the Monterrey 33 yard line.
A great catch by Caleb Frysinger at the sideline gives Aledo a first down at the Tech one yard line. Pate passes to Daythan Davis for the touchdown, and the Bearcats lead 35-6.
On their next possession Monterrey moves the ball out to their 49 yard line, with some help from a penalty on the Aledo defense. Two running plays lose a yard each, then an incomplete pass forces Monterrey to punt.
Aledo will operate from their own 28 yard line.
Pate Davis to Willie Gibson gets the Bearcats a first down at the Monterrey 49 yard line. A broken play, a penalty on the offense, and a loss on third down force Aledo to punt.
Aledo's Gunner Johnson recovers a fumble on the punt return and the Bearcats have the ball back at the Monterrey 31. A Caleb Frysinger run to the left side gets another Aledo first down to the Tech 19 yard line. Unable to convert on third down, Aledo will kick a Field Goal. Chance Nevarez converts from 35 yards and they lead 38-6 with just over 2 minutes left in the third quarter.
Monterrey Tech operates from their 18 yard line. They move the ball out to the 23 as the third quarter ends. A pass completion is just short on third down and they will punt the ball back to Aledo.
Clayton Lowe fair catches the ball at the Aledo 40 yard line. The Bearcat's Jess Anders scores on the first Aledo play and Chance Nevarez PAT is good. Aledo 45, Monterrey 6 with less than a minute gone in the fourth quarter.
Clayton Lowe intercepts a pass and returns it to the Tech 10 yard line. Aledo operates from the Monterrey 10 yard line. They are unable to convert and will give Monterrey the ball back at their own 4 yard line.
Monterrey is held and punts the ball back to the Bearcats. Clayton Lowe calls for the fair catch at the Monterrey 37 yard line.
A Ben Thomes pass is intercepted and brought back to the Monterrey 47 yard line. Monterrey will work from there with about 6 minutes left in the game. Forced to punt again, they will give the Bearcats the ball on their own 20 yard line with about 4 minutes left.
The Bearcats are held and Monterrey gets the ball back on a punt at the Aledo 48 yard line. Once again the Aledo defense is up the challenge and Monterrey is held to 5 yards on 3 plays. They attempt a field goal on 4th down, but it is well short and Aledo will have the ball at their own 20 yard line and run out the clock to end the game with a final score of 45-6 Bearcats.
