Coming off a win last Friday against Boswell to gain possession of second-place in District 6-4A, the Springtown Lady Porcupines were primed to host the first-place Aledo Ladycats in a match that could have tied up the district race.

First-place Ladycats cruise in sweep over Brewer

Aledo senior hitter Allie Bettinger recorded a match-high 14 kills and senior hitter Abby Tomas, back from an ankle injury, added six kills and three blocks to lead the state-ranked No. 10 Ladycats to a 25-10, 25-14, 25-14 sweep over Brewer Friday night in a District 6-4A match at Brewer.

The win, coupled with Boswell's loss to Springtown, puts the Ladycats (25-6, 5-0) alone on top of the District 6-4A standings.
