Gordon was born in Haskell to Owen and Mayme Toliver. He graduated from Trent High School in 1955 and attended Cisco Jr. College and later transferred to Sul Ross University. He served in the U.S. Army in Alaska and played on the Yukon Command baseball team. He was employed with Cities Service Oil Company and their subsequent firm for 32 years; he retired in 1999 from the oil and gas industry. He was a member of North Side Baptist Church, the Glory Sunday School Class, the Gideon’s, and the Parker County American Legion, as well as volunteering with the Texas Baptist Men, Salvation Army Disaster Relief and volunteer Christian Builders.

Wood was born to Luther and Loweda Wood. He attended Aledo schools, Weatherford College and Texas Christian University. He was married to his sweetheart, Renna Mixson Wood, for 42 years. Strong in his ethics and values, he was always true to his word, and he was a heartfelt patriot. A hard worker with an entrepreneurial spirit, he was in business for himself most of his life. He owned and operated Wood Wholesale Greenhouses and Landscaping. For 11 years, Wood and his wife, Renna, managed the No. 1-rated Starr Hollow Golf Club until 2006.
Wood was preceded in death by his father Luther Wood.

Griffin was born in Azle to Thomas Eugene Griffin, Jr. and Patricia Ann Steele Griffin Vernia. He attended Azle High School and TCJC in Fort Worth. Robert was extremely active in Suicide Prevention Teams and Grief Counseling Teams. As an accomplished artist, he was also a Pencil Art Instructor.
He was preceded in death by his father Thomas Griffin and step-father Larry Vernia.

He was born in Roby to Calvin and Margaret Williamson. He was a retired aircraft mechanic and was employed with General Dynamics for many years. Williamson was a Baptist and a member of the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and gardening.
His parents, four brothers, and three sisters precede him in death.
Survivors include his wife Opal; daughters Betty Peoples and husband Melvin of Weatherford, Earnestine Sutherland and husband Luke of Mansfield, son Bobby Williamson and wife Colita of Euless; 10 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Nix was the daughter of Rudolph and Minnie Wilhite in Ridgway. Nix was a longtime resident of Weatherford and formerly of Fort Worth. Nix really enjoyed decorating her home, sewing and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
Survivors include husband of 54 years W.R. Nix of Weatherford; son Ricky Nix of Weatherford; daughter Sheryle Nix and husband Jim, of Decatur; grandchildren Chris Smith and wife Christie, of Saginaw, and Kyle Nix of Weatherford; brother Sonny Wilhite; and sisters Anne Stengal and Jerry Pollard.

Arlington. Irene Williams Ivie, 99, passed away Wednesday, July 28th in Arlington.
Dr. Ivie was born February 11, 1912 in Beeville to R. A. Ivie, Sr. and
Lida Fowler Ivie.
He graduated from Beeville High School, South Texas State in San Marcos and the University of Texas Dental School in Houston.
Irene was born March 27, 1911 in Pauls Valley, OK to Alfred Riley and Mary Dunaway Williams. She was a graduate of Tolar High School.

Cotter was a resident of Austin before moving to Weatherford in 2004. She was a homemaker, retired teacher and Cafeteria Manager for the Austin Independent School District for 20 years. She was a member of The North Side Baptist Church and she loved sewing.
Cotter was preceded in death by parents Dennis and Tellola Stevens; son Clifford Mark Cotter and sister Ruth Mardell Stevens.

Lippard was born to Elmer and Evelyn Lippard in Waco. He was a local owner of Jerry Lippard Brush Applied house painting for 23 years. He was a member of the fellowship of Weatherford Church and an active member of the men’s fellowship.
He was preceded in death by his dad, mother and infant brother baby Ronald.

Raymond E. Curtis, 83, longtime Weatherford Independent School District superintendent and community leader, died Friday, July 23, in a Fort Worth hospital facility.

Mr. Curtis was born January 29, 1927 in Allen, Texas. He came to
Weatherford in 1954 after a two-year stint in the United States
Navy and graduation from University of North Texas in 1949. He
served as superintendent of Allen ISD from 1950 to 1954.

Mr. Curtis served as Weatherford ISD superintendent until his
retirement in 1986. For 10 years, he was president of Weatherford
Chamber of Commerce and was named Outstanding Citizen of the Year
in 1977.

He was a member of the Texas State Teachers Association, a member

Maryann Cook Gunn

Maryann Cook Gunn died in Ft. Worth at Community Hospice of Texas. Mrs. Gunn was born in Philipsburg, New Jersey and moved to Dallas soon after. She is preceded in death by her parents William C. Cook, Pauline Harper Eckel and brother Sam Cook.

She graduated from Hillcrest High in 1967 and earned a BA and a MA from Stephen F. Austin and taught art at Azle Junior High for 33 years. She was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Maryann married William Wallace Gunn III on June 29. 1974 and raised two children, William Noble Gunn and Mary Grace Gunn.
