Mavis Ellyn Austfjord-EdieMavis Ellyn Austfjord-EdieMavis Ellyn Austfjord-Edie passed away Monday, Jan. 2, 2012, at her home peacefully. She left this world for the next as she had always wished she would.

Mavis was born to the late Eggert "Ed" and Olga Anderson Austfjord of Cavalier, N.D. She grew up with her late brother, John "Manny," and his late wife, Janet Austfjord of Cavalier, sister, Cleo Bruers of Torrance, Calif., and little sister, Carolyn and husband, Pat Abel, of Owensboro, K.Y.

Mavis lived in North Dakota, Illinois, California and finally Texas during her (HaHa) 27 1/2 years. She worked very hard to raise her five children and help where she could with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was known for her crazy ways and travel. She loved to bowl and travel and mixed the two often. Mavis retired from nursing late in 2010, but continued to work as needed until late spring 2011 before she started her summer of travel.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Mineral Wells, a Pythian Sister of Mineral Well, member of USBC bowling league and finally American Association of Critical Care Nurses. Mavis stressed the importance of education and hard work to get what you want. But, most importantly, she stressed living for today and planning for the future. Time and loved ones are here and now.

Clifford Lewis BundyClifford Lewis Bundy passed away Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011, in Weatherford. He was 77.

Cliff was born Nov. 22, 1934, in Casper, Wyo., to the late Charles and Mildred Bundy. His family ranch in Wyoming is where he was raised along with his four brothers and sisters. He attended the University of Denver, graduating in 1956 with a degree in engineering.

Following graduation, he began his career as a chemical engineer for oil refineries, specifically in pipe design. He met his future wife Elizabeth Bird, a kindergarten teacher, at their church singles group in Redondo Beach, Calif. They married July 20, 1963, and together the couple raised one daughter.

The next years were filled with work and neighborhood activities including positions of usher and deacon at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church of Newport Beach, Calif., father and daughter Indian Princesses at the YMCA, along with yearly vacations to Kauai and Maui with his wife and daughter.

He and his wife purchased an interest in a London timeshare with Elizabeth's sister in 1991 and began making annual trips to the United Kingdom over the next 20 years.

Clifford will be remembered as a father, husband and friend. A quiet intelligent man who loved the arts, he was a model of strength and devotion.

Survivors: He leaves behind his daughter, Lynelle; wife, Elizabeth; brother, Charles Bundy Jr.; sister, Donna Fisher; and numerous nieces, nephews and family.

Andree Ann Auston passed away Saturday, December 31, 2011 in Mineral Wells.

Andree was born July 9, 1937 in Dallas. She enjoyed visiting with friends, reading her Bible, doing needlework, playing bingo, skip-bo and dominoes with friends.

She was a member of the Fairview Baptist Church for a number of years and truly enjoyed the friendship of her Pastor John Tunnell and family along with the church members.

Andree was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Auston; son, Keith Edward Shelton, Jr.; brothers, J. B. Graham, Donald Henry Graham, Jerry Lee Graham; and sister, Alva Reda Biasotti.

Survivors: sons, Robert Eugene Shelton and wife, Kenneth Wayne Shelton and wife; daughter, Patricia Marie Belcher and husband; sister, Betty Jane Pate; brother, Maurice Y. Graham and wife, Elsie; also surviving her are granddaughter, Helena and 4 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 6, 2012 at the Fairview Baptist Church in Mineral Wells.

Earnie Gibson, 57, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2011.

Earnie was born March 13, 1954, in Morton, the son of Roland and Evelyn Gibson. He was employed by Jack B Kelley Inc. of Amarillo for more than 12 years.

Earnie loved his friends, riding his Harley and driving his jet boat. He lived life to the fullest and enjoyed living on the edge. Earnie was preceded in death by his mother and sister, Jeannie McDonald.

Survivors: Father, Roland Gibson of Weatherford; sisters, Lana Randall of Weatherford, Tonya Reid and husband, Steve, of Odessa and Candie Conrad and husband, Darren, of Duncan, British Columbia, Canada; and many nieces, nephews and loving friends.

Imogene PharoImogene PharoImogene Pharo, 98, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2011, in Fort Worth.

Imogene Wallace Pharo was born Jan. 25, 1913, in Fairview, daughter of the late A.D. and Emma Knight Wallace. She graduated from Millsap High School and began a career in nursing.

Imogene later became an LVN through the Weatherford College Program. She married Thomas Jarvis Pharo on Dec. 18, 1932, and they began their life together. Imogene and Tom worked closely together to build their business, Pharo and James Grocery and Market.

She had been a member of the First Baptist Church of Weatherford since 1932 and was a loving and caring Christian. Imogene loved music, playing the organ and was a member of the church bell choir. She sang with the Sensational Senior Singers of the Senior Center. Imogene was singing up until her stroke in November.

She and Tom were king and queen at the Sr. Center where they were active until Tom's death in 2000. Imogene loved painting, sewing, flowers, tree, birds and working in her yard. She taught Sunday School for many years at the church, working with young girls, including Girl Scouts. Imogene was also a mentor to those desiring to become nurses. Many doctors and friends were always treated to date-loaf candy she made each Christmas.

Imogene was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Thomas Jarvis Pharo, a Weatherford native, on Dec. 3, 2000; her parents; brother, Aubrey Wallace; sister, Clyde Roquemore; son-in-law, Idys Waynne Cox.

Charlene Young HechlerCharlene Young HechlerCharlene Young Hechler, 85, of Weatherford passed away Thursday Dec. 22, 2011 in Fort Worth.

She was born February 24, 1926 in Enid, Oklahoma to Charles and Freda Henke Young. Charlene was a caring nurse as well as a devoted homemaker. She resided the last 3½ years Arbor House where she made several friends.

Charlene is survived by her daughter, Norine Turner of Weatherford; grandchildren, Robin Winters and Terry Turner and her brother, Charles W Young and wife Kay.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Galbreaith Pickard in charge of arrangement.

Florene KingFlorene KingFlorene left this earth on December 29, 2011 to be held in our Lord's eternal embrace following lengthy and complicated health issues.

Florene was born in La Coste, Texas to Philip and Elma Jungman. She married her beloved childhood sweetheart, Cameron Lee King, on August 23, 1952 and they were married for 50 years before his passing on June 3, 2003. Florene moved to Corpus Christi about 2 years ago from Azle. Over the years the family lived in San Antonio, Victoria, Dallas and Odem- all in Texas and a year in Anchorage, Alaska.

She considered Azle to be her "home" where she was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. She was employed in the auto industry for 40 years with her longest tenure with McKenzie VW in Corpus Christi. Florene is preceded in rising to God's Glory by her husband, Cameron; daughter, Kathi Kay (King) Embry, who passed away June 4, 2006; her infant son, Douglas Wayne King; her parents, Philip and Elma Jungman; her sisters, Bernice Evans and Elaine Trammell.

June WetwiskaVerna "June" Wetwiska, 78, died Friday, December 30, 2011, with her family by her side.

June, a two time breast cancer survivor, was born June 8, 1933, in Gracemont, Oklahoma, daughter of the late Thomas and Nora Jones Rackley. June had a love of nature from wildflowers, feeding her hummingbirds and her backyard menagerie of wild birds. She enjoyed traveling with her husband across America in their motor home and was an avid baseball fan, traveling to Surprise, Arizona each year to attend spring training. She loved to read but most of all she loved being a devoted wife, mother and Grama. She was a member of St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Weatherford. June loved God and trusted in Him completely.

June was preceded in death by her parents and ten older brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her beloved husband, Linn Wetwiska; daughter, Lynora "Nori" Sullivan and husband, James; twin granddaughters, Rebecca and Samantha Sullivan; step-daughter, Tommie Lynn Steddum and husband, Ben; and a host of loving friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, January 5, 2012 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, 1802 Bethel Road, Weatherford. Interment: Private in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at White's Funeral Home, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford, where a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.

Alex was born March 3, 1997 in Weatherford, and was a resident of Aledo all her life. She was a student at Aledo Middle School, who lived life to the fullest, played softball and attended the First Baptist Church of Aledo.

Jimmie BratcherJimmie Bratcher, 81, went home to be with the Lord December 27, 2011.

Jimmie was born November 28, 1930 and grew up in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. He had been a resident of Parker County for the past 18 years.

Jimmie served in the United States Navy and was a member of President Truman's National Honor Guard. Married to his life-long love, Joyce, for 58 years, Jimmie most enjoyed taking care of his wife and family.

He was a member of Western Wheelers Camping Club since 1985 and loved taking trips in his RV and traveling with friends. Jimmie was a devoted member of North Side Baptist Church where he enjoyed volunteering his time.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, John Bratcher and Vera Bratcher Getz. Jimmie was a loving and godly husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be greatly missed by all.

Survivors: wife, Joyce; daughters, Gail Bayne and husband, John, of Morgantown, PA, Lisa Payne and husband, David of Hudson Oaks; five grandchildren, which he loved dearly, Maegan, Lindsay, Kelsey, Brennan and Braden. He will forever be in our hearts.

Celebration of life: 11 a.m. Friday, December 30 at North Side Baptist Church, 910 N.Main, Weatherford.
Interment: Annetta Cemetery on FM 5 in Annetta.
