Lillie Pearl Glenn, 66, of Weatherford died Thursday, September 9, 2010 in a local care facility. Lillie was born December 26, 1943 in Centerville, Texas, and was a resident of Parker County for many years. She was a homemaker and a member of New Prospect Baptist Church.

Kenneth Wayne “Butch” Orr, 58, died peacefully at his home Friday, September 10, 2010.

Butch was born January 17, 1952 in Decatur to Kenneth Edward and Edith Joyce Phillips Orr. He was a longtime resident of Azle, attended Azle High School and then Texas Tech University. He was an employee of Union Pacific Railroad for many years before owning Al's Motor Imports.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his half-brother, Carroll Glen Staples; nephew, Zachary Staples; nieces, Sarabeth Staples, Abigail Staples Vasek and Maggie Staples Carpenter; sister-in-law, Trudi Spring Allison; aunt, Helen Hamilton and husband, Homer; cousins, Glen, Brian and Billy Hamilton; and a host of loving family and friends.

Braxton James "Monkey" Dennis, a precious baby boy, died Tuesday, September 7, 2010, at a local hospital.

Braxton was born July 17, 2010 to Tasha Ann Billiot Matlock and Christopher Wayne Dennis, in Weatherford.

Survivors include his parents, Tasha Matlock and Chris Dennis of Springtown; a brother, Landon Dennis; sister, Katelynn Dennis; brother, Craig Matlock; grandparents, Debra Ferguson and husband, Chuck, of Burleson, James Dennis of Granbury and Florinda Dunsworth, of Benbrook; great-grandparents, Laqueda Myers of Springtown and Ann Jaget of Hurst; uncle, Michael Verdin and wife Kayla, of Louisiana; aunt, Trina Smith of Benbrook; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral Service:  2 p.m. Friday, September 10th at White's Funeral Home Chapel, 401 N. Main St., Springtown

John Allen SmithJohn Allen SmithJohn Allen Smith, 65, died Wednesday, September 8, 2010, in Weatherford.

Smith was born April 12, 1945, in Bugtown, Ind., the son of Albert Anderson and Marybelle Elsie Ehrhart Smith. John was born at home because he wanted to be close to his mother. He was married to the former Sylvia Ann "Pick" Harden for nearly 45 years prior to her death in 2008. John made his career in the oil and gas business. He retired and loved his life on the "River."

John was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia "Pick" Smith in 2008; a son, JB Smith in 2007; a grandson, Austin in 2002; and his father.

Gloria Mae HamiltonGloria Mae HamiltonGloria Mae Hamilton, 81, died Monday, September 6th at her home in Weatherford. She was born September 2, 1929 to Hugh J. Luke and Stella (Hamon) Luke at their home near a curve in the road (designated “Curve City” on her birth certificate) outside of Enid Oklahoma.

After graduating from Beaumont High School, Gloria attained a Bachelors degree in Chemistry from North Texas University, a Bachelors degree in Mathematics from Lamar University, and a Masters degree in Mathematics from Stanford University. She taught AP Calculus and Computer Science at Highland Park High School, in Dallas for 28 years.

Alexander Roscoe Pope
Alexander Roscoe Pope, son of Travis and Samantha Pope, died on September 4, 2010. Other than the parents, survivors include sister, Scarlett Pope, brother, Travis Pope, Jr., maternal Grandparents, Bill and Gail Greene of North Carolina, paternal grandparents, Terri Pope, David and Sheila Spears of Weatherford. As the Angel wrote Alex’s name in the Book of Life, he closed it whispering “Too perfect for this world”
Graveside service was held Wednesday, September 8, 2010 in the Annetta Cemetery. Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements.

Wilburn Howard "Coley" Coleman, 76, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, died Thursday, September 2, 2010, with his family at his side.
Wilburn was born August 14, 1934 in Springtown to Howard and Gladys Morrow Coleman. He graduated from Springtown High School where he was an all-star basketball player, then he attended Weatherford College for two years. On November 4, 1955, Wilburn married the love of his life, Melba Oxford, and they began their life together.
Wilburn was an avid hunter, and a member of the Masonic Lodge. He honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1957 to 1959. Wilburn was employed by Lockheed-Martin for 30 years.

She loved playing bingo, sewing, crocheting, song writing and spending time with her grandchildren. Her husband; Alvin Charles Cargill, preceded her in death.

Calvin “Ike” Brown
Maj Calvin “Ike” Brown, USAF Retired, died Sunday morning, September 5, 2010 in a local care facility. Born January 31, 1923 in DeSoto, Ike was a longtime resident of Parker County. Retired from the United States Air Force, Ike was a member of South Main Church of Christ and a Shriner. Survivors include his sons, David Brown of Mansfield and Keith Brown of Gary; sister, Bernita Singletary of Weatherford; brother, Don Brown of Hidaway; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Memorial service was held Tuesday September 7, 2010 at Martin Crest Assisted Living and Memory Care Center in Weatherford. Services provided by Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel.
