J.C. "Jake" Jackson, 95, passed away Sunday, Dec. 26, 2010, in Fort Worth.

J. C. "Jake" Jackson was born May 3, 1915, near Earl's Switch in Parker County. He was the son of Stonewall and Willy Huston Shelby Jackson. Jake attended Weatherford High School.
Jake Jackson served in World War II from February 1942 until November 1945. His service assignments included Galveston where he served with the 20th Air Force in a radar unit. In 1945 he was ordered to the South Pacific where he was stationed on Iwo Jima. He received several citations, including two bronze stars.

Jerry Lynn Herringer, 59, of Weatherford went home to be with his Mom and Dad on Thursday, December 23, 2010. Born August 4, 1951 in Odessa, Texas to Henry E. and Lora Lee Herringer, Jerry was a resident of Parker County for most of his life. He was a welder for Weatherford International and later a truck driver for Stroud Oil, a member of the Church of God, an avid hunter and fisherman. Jerry was a high school football star with numerous scholarship offers, but decided to forgo college and join the United States Navy. While in the Navy, Jerry served in the UDT (Underwater Demolition Team) After fulfilling his five year commitment in the Navy, he graduated from Weatherford Junior College with an Applied Science degree.

Anne Oakley Gomez, 78, wife, mother, artist, and servant, returned home to her Lord Jesus on the evening of December 21, 2010 after a long battle with lung disease. She won her battle in the end.

Anne Gomez graduated TCU (1959) with Bachelor’s Degrees in Art and Language. She was an accomplished artist in stained glass and paint. With a deep love for horses, she rode since her youth. Married 45 years she was the mother of three sons and one daughter. Her daughter, Ana Carolina Gomez preceded her into the kingdom in 2009. She is home now and she will be highly honored and greatly missed.

Charlotte Roquemore, 90, passed away Thursday, December 16, 2010.
Charlotte was born February 22, 1920 in Williams Port Maury, Tennessee to Francis Ophelia and Arch Hughes Region. She was a retired telephone operator of 35 years with AT&T and a resident of Weatherford for over 60 years. Her husband, Newell Manual Roquemore, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her son, Steven Demar Roquemore of Prosper, TX; daughter-in-law, Guadalupe G. Robbins also of Prosper; brother, Earl Region of Fort Worth; nieces, Tommie Coalson of Garner, Norma Hamilton of Odessa and Theda Beauchamp of Fort Worth and a nephew, Bill Jordan of Weatherford.

Lora Fay Mullinix, 72, went to be with her heavenly Father on Monday, Dec. 20, 2010.

Lora Fay was born June 8, 1938, in Coolidge to the late Earl and Colly Lambert Killough. She had lived in the Azle area for 47 years. Lora was a member of First Baptist Church of Briar for many years. She liked to bowl and work in her yard. Lora made her career with Tandy Corp.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jon Mullinix; and sons, Ricky Gann, Randy Gann, Ira Gann and Leonard Gann Jr.

Harvey Whitworth, 91, passed away Monday, December 20, 2010.
Graveside Service: 2:00 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010 at Memory Gardens of the Valley.
Harvey Lee Whitworth was born January 30, 1919 the son of Sanford and Lester May Whitworth in Alderson, Okla. He was a long time resident of Denton. Harvey graduated from Denton High School and attended North Texas University. He married the former Melba Cleola Sparks in Denton on March 29, 1946. Mr. Whitworth retired from Denton State School in 1982. Harvey spent much time enjoying his farm in Millsap. He enjoyed gardening, yard work, hunting, fishing, and feeding the wild animals on the farm. Mr. Whitworth was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Agle Martin Whitworth.

James was born October 29, 1938 in Steven County to James Davis and Gladis Franklin Gray. He had retired from the Fort Worth Fire Department after 35 years of service. James had many names, Dad, Papa, Old Papa and Muffin Man. He loved his family very much, often the peacemaker and a man of many stories.

Phillip Ray Spracklen, 56, a loving son, brother and uncle passed away peacefully December 16, 2010. Memorial service: 4:00 PM, Wednesday December 22, 2010 in the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel. Memorials can be made to the American Diabetes Association. Phil was born August 14, 1954 in Fort Worth. He graduated from Sherman High School. Phil received a degree in Music from UTA in 1979. He will be remembered for his love of family, music, movies, sports and his pets. Phil was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Spracklen, brother, Mark Spracklen, and a niece Lauren Lupher. His survivors include his mother Charleen Bedinger; brother, Paul Spracklen and wife Penny; sister, Linda Lupher and husband Gary; nephews, Michael, Keith, Ryan, Zackery and Mason Spracklen and Zane Burkhalter.

George E. Cobb, 75, of Weatherford passed away Friday, December 17, 2010.
George was born January 9, 1935 in Dublin, Ireland to Annie and Frank Cobb.

Mr. Cobb was a member of the Royal Household where he served Her Majesty the Queen of England. He also served in the Royal Air Force.

George married the love of his life, June and took on six children. They owned and operated a café in England. In the United States he became Weatherford’s Irish Friend; George never met a stranger. He was an employee of Brookshire’s.
