Ellis Robert Ponthier, 60, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, January 31, 2014.
Memorial Service: 10:30 A.M. Monday in White's Azle Chapel.
Ellis was born April 2, 1953 in Big Springs to Ory Peter and Margaret Ann Ponthier. He married the love of his life, Norma Foster, March 31, 1995. Ellis honorably served his country in the United States Air Force, The Air Force Reserves and DCMA. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers.
Survivors: Loving wife, Norma Ponthier; children, Tara Ponthier of Azle, Kaylea Ponthier of Lake Worth, Nick Cage and wife, Kerry and Debra Dickinson and husband, Dustin; grandchildren, Leanne Hoadley, Logan Strawbridge, Logan Blair, Dillon Cage, Devon Dickinson and soon to arrive, Harper Dickinson; brother, Neilson Ponthier and wife, Kat; sister, Alicia Smith and husband, Doug; sister-in-law, Bonnie Ponthier.

Linda Sue Anderson, 66, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014.
Service is at 10 a.m. Saturday at Gospel Gathering Fellowship Church, 7315 Silver Creek Road, Azle. Interment is in Ash Creek Cemetery. Visitation is from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at White's Azle Funeral Home.
Linda was born Jan. 24, 1948 in Dalhart to William and Pearl Mae McMurry. She married the love of her life, Ron Anderson, Feb. 27, 1969 in Dalhart.
Survivors include her husband, Ron Anderson of Azle; daughter, Cinda Sackett and husband, Danny of Amarillo; sons, Richard Anderson of Azle and Steven Anderson and wife, Bobbi of Arlington; grandchildren, Nick Sackett and wife, Lauryn, Janetta Sackett, Lucas Anderson, Rylee Anderson, Aidan Anderson and Levi Sackett; great-grandchildren, Brooklynn Sackett and Noah Sackett; siblings, Billy McMurry, Patsy Vinson, and Blenda Pate; and a host of loving friends.

John Ashley White, III, 53, of Hudson Oaks died Jan. 24, 2014 in his home, surrounded by family and friends.
Memorial service is set for 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1 at New River Fellowship, 3252 E. I-20, Hudson Oaks, Texas 76087, 817-341-7970.

John Ashley White, III was born Dec. 1, 1960 in Norfolk, Va. He was raised and graduated from high school in Warner Robins, Ga. He was a member of the class of 1979, and well known as a wonderful football player. John also played football at Jacksonville State College in Jacksonville, Ala. He joined the U.S. Air Force, which brought him to Texas where he fell in love with Connie, who became his beloved wife of 24 years. They had two beautiful children together. John later opened U.S. Steam and successfully ran the business for many years.
John was a loving and devoted husband and father. He loved coaching youth soccer in Weatherford. He also enjoyed playing golf with his buddies. He loved being at the lake and fishing with his family and friends. John and Connie have always opened their hearts and home to everyone that crossed their paths.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Cheryl Denise White and Allison White Rowe; and uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Olan Shepard, Jr.

James "Jack" Monroe Dodson, 84, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014.
Graveside service is planned at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29 at Azleland Memorial Park in Azle.
Jack was born March 4, 1929 to Ora and Ola Dodson in Fort Worth. He worked for the city of Fort Worth for 28 years and retired as a truck driver. He will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his wife, Katheryn Dodson; son, Kenneth Hoyt Dodson and wife, Malissa; grandchildren, Shirley Jolene Dodson, Frazer Keenan Dodson, and Carra Dodson; and great-grandson, Atticus Walker Dodson.

Dan Dowd, 55, loving husband, father, brother, uncle and grandfather, died Jan. 18, 2014 in Benbrook.

Mr. Dowd was born Sept. 4, 1958 in Stuttgart, Germany to Robert James and Rosemary Dowd. He grew up in California. He married the love of his life, Trish Hukill, July 11, 1992. Dan was an avid biker and had recently fulfilled his dream in opening Three D Motor Sports in Weatherford. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his loving wife of 22 years, Trish Dowd; children, Zach Goen, Danny Dowd, Meagan Lewis and husband, Wayne, and Randy Dowd and wife, Kristine; seven grandchildren; sisters, Debra Ethridge and husband, Robert and Sue Conti; three nieces and nephews; and a host of loving friends.

Annis Robertson was born May 19, 1932. She was a volunteer for Neighbors to Neighbors for many years. Annis loved fishing, reading, cooking for her family, traveling and cats. She had a servant's heart and had done volunteer work with the Salvation Army. Annis was also awarded Woman of the Year in 2003 by the Chamber of Commerce. She was a member of the Springtown First United Methodist Church. Annis was preceded in death by her husband, James Robertson; her parents; and a daughter, Linda Robertson.
Survivors include her daughter, Cindy Goodson and husband, Barry of Springtown; son, Marvin Woods and wife, Michelle of Crowley; daughter, Sarah McGough and husband, Pete of Fruitvale; son, James Mitchell Robertson; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Thomasene "Sue" Hatcher died Jan. 17, 2014 at age 78.
Memorial service is 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 212 Pearson Lane, Azle.
Sue was born April 7, 1935 in Hollis, Okla. to the late Willy Arnold and Mary Kathreen Patrick Weightman.
She was a loving wife and mother. Sue loved her family and all of her friends. She will truly be missed by all. Sue was one of Jehovah's Witnesses and she attended the Eagle Mountain Kingdom Hall in Azle. She enjoyed talking to people about the Bible and the wonderful blessings that will come by means of God's Kingdom. Sue and her family had lived in Fort Worth before moving to the Weatherford-Azle area in about 1990.
She was preceded in death by sisters, Violet Weightman, Lois McVickers, Doris Ann McQueen and Peggy Marie Music; and brothers, Jess Arnold Weightman and Carnel (Duke) Weightman.
Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Jimmy D. Hatcher; daughter, Deanna K. Jenkins; grandchildren, Shelbie Jenkins, Brendie Jenkins and Ryan Jenkins; sisters, Luceile Lowry of Sarah, Okla. and Glenetta Pearl Conway of Sarah, Okla.; and several nieces and nephews.

James Vernon Thomson, 92, died Jan. 15, 2014 in Fort Worth after an extended illness.
Graveside services are Tuesday, Jan. 21 at 2 p.m. at Memory Gardens of the Valley in Weatherford. No visitation is planned.
James was born Dec. 23, 1921 in Evergreen to James Q. Thomson and Annie Morrison Thomson. He was married to his loving wife, Ruby Parsons Thomson. James Thomson was an Army veteran of World War II and was retired from General Dynamics after more than 40 years of service. He was also an active member and deacon at Northside Baptist Church in Weatherford.
He was predeceased by his parents; a son, James Thomson, Jr.; first wife, Doris Gunter Thomson; second wife, Evelyn Dahr Thomson; all his siblings; and grandson, Robert H. Owens.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Thomson; daughter, Sharon Ann Thomson; grandchildren, Stephen and (Margaret) Owens, Travis and (Paulette) Owens, Kenna Owens, K. D. Owens, Megan Thomson and Samuel Thomson; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Colonel (Ret) Floyd Emerson Galloway, Jr. died Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014.
Memorial service is at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25 at White's Azle Chapel in Azle. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to one of his favorite charities in his name: Azle Animal Shelter, Salvation Army or the Fort Worth Zoo.
Born into the Army-Air Corps, he traveled all over the country as a child, landing in Paris, Ky., where he met, courted and married Elise Baird Galloway. He entered the Air Force in 1954, continuing the long family tradition of military service, retiring after 30 years in 1984. He was a strategic bomber pilot and commanding officer serving in the 8th Air Force, SAC.
After retiring, he was an icon in the City of Sanctuary for more than 20 years. He served as mayor, treasurer, city administrator and was mayor pro tem at his death. The colonel was a man of conviction and honor. He loved to read and was a student of history. The colonel loved his country, his family, his dogs and his friends. He loved to fly. The colonel was a simple man who enjoyed sharing a glass of wine with friends, eating a good "greasy spoon" meal, quoting poetry, and working on city business with his trusty city secretary at his side.
Megg is indebted to her friends from Tison Middle School and the family of Sanctuary for their support and kindness during this difficult journey.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elise Baird Galloway; and son, Floyd Emerson Galloway III.
