Betty McCarroll

Betty was born May 30, 1947 in Grand Saline to Charlie and Mildred Borcherding. She had lived in the Azle area since 1979. Betty and husband, Lloyd were married May 11, 1963.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Charles and Paul Dean Borcherding.

Survivors include husband, Lloyd McCarroll of Azle; son, Lloyd McCarroll, Jr of Azle; grandchildren, Bobbie Deaton and Steven Lawton; brother, James Borcherding; sisters, Wanda Gail Morelli and Juanita Bosley and a host of loving friends.

Daisy Clarke Lutz

Daisy Roma Lutz was born June 10, 1916, in Plainview, daughter of the late Charles Henry and Candace Ruth Selvidge Clarke. She worked alongside her husband, Don Lutz, for Lutz Jewelry in Hurst and was a devout Christian who served as a Sunday school teacher and member of the choir at Possum Kingdom Baptist Church. Daisy was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Daisy was preceded in death by her husband, Don M. Lutz; son, Don Arthur Lutz; and her parents.

Survivors include daughters, Sally Lutz Day and husband, Joe, of Weatherford and Kathy Lutz St. George of Steamboat Springs, Colo.; daughter-in-law, LaVerne Lutz of Krum; grandchildren, Shannon Day of Austin, Charlie Day of Austin, Vickie Lutz Walden and husband, Dan, of Bartlesville and Don Ray Lutz of Oklahoma City; three great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many loving friends and church family.

Carroll Eidson Hobbs

Carroll Eidson Hobbs

Carroll was born November 22, 1947, as Wanda Carroll Eidson, the second child and only daughter of Jack Leigh and Wanda Carroll Eidson, in Houston. She was 2 years old when the family moved to Weatherford, where she grew up. She was a swimmer for PBC, played the piano, and was a Curved Bar girl scout, a cheerleader, and football sweetheart at Weatherford High School from which she graduated in 1965.

She attended Stephens College in Missouri for one year, returned to North Texas University and then transferred to Texas Christian University in Fort Worth where she graduated in 1972 with degrees in Elementary and Physical Education. She taught Kindergarten in Aledo, Lubbock, and Weatherford schools. In Lubbock, she also taught aerobic dancing for several years and was a member of the Lubbock Junior League.

In her first marriage, she had two children, Christopher Stephen Pipes and Eric Bryan Pipes with her then husband, William E. Pipes. Later, she met and married Roy Gene Hobbs in 1982 and, together, had a daughter Tiffany Dawn Hobbs. Roy and Carroll lived in Lubbock, where she helped raise all her new family, including stepchildren Roy Scott Hobbs and Angela Kay Hobbs.

After Roy died in 2000, Carroll moved back to Weatherford with her daughter Tiffany and continued teaching until her retirement. Being a caring and hard working person, she helped in the care of her father and with Tiffany and the nurturing of her granddaughter, Aubrey.

Ronnel Wayne "Ron" Leathers

Ronnel Wayne "Ron" Leathers

Ronnel Wayne Leathers was born July 10, 1943, in Paris, son of the late Buford Wayne and Hazel Louise Walker Leathers. He served with dedication as an aircraft mechanic in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged after four years of service. Ron married the former Linda Alice McKim in Paris on Dec. 20, 1964, and they began their life together. More than anything else, Ron loved working as a silversmith and made it his career for more than 40 years.

Ron graduated with the class of 1962 from Paris High School and was a member of North Side Baptist Church in Weatherford.

Ron was preceded in death by a son, Chris Leathers; his parents; sister, Margaret Wilson; and brother, Mitchell Leathers.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Leathers of Poolville; children, Suzett Oppenheimer and husband, Jon, of Weatherford, and Tracy Leathers and wife, Dotty, of Poolville; grandchildren, Justin and wife, Jessica, Kristen, Shelby, and Courtney; great-grandchildren, Brooklynn and Kameron; and a host of loving friends.

Frank was born in Loyalhanna, Pa. to John and Mary Antus. He was a longtime resident of North Texas. Frank was an avid fisherman and loving family man. He honorably served his country in the United States Army during World War II. Frank was awarded a Honorary Life Membership in the Knights of Columbus "4th Degree".

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 67 years, Florence; seven brothers; five sisters; and great-grandson, Donald.

Survivors include sons, Richard Antus and wife, Norma of Ponder and Ronald Antus and wife, Judy of Indiana; daughter, Rose Phillips and husband, John of Azle; also 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Sandra Renee Harmonson

Sandra was born September 22, 1965 to Sammy Ray and Frances Price Ellerd in Fort Worth. She was a faithful member of Lakeshore Drive Baptist Church and a loving mentor of Kids Hope at Mary Martin Elementary.

Sandra was preceded in death by her brother, Stephen Ellerd.

Survivors include loving husband, Doug Harmonson of Weatherford; daughters, Lea Byrd and husband, J. C., Tori Bootpetch and Ana Bootpetch, all of Weatherford; grandchildren, Nikki and Ryker; brothers, Brent Ellerd and wife, Denise and Mitch Meyer and wife, Teresa; sister, Mindy Meyer; parents, Sammy Ellerd and wife, Nancy and Fran Meyer and husband, Mike; grandmother, Merna Gound; nephew, C. Travis Johnson

Travis Joe Johnson Sr. was born April 3, 1931, in Leola, Ark., the first of two children to the late George and Edith Kiesler Johnson. He married the late Faye Watson Johnson in Arkansas on Dec. 26, 1951, and they began their life together. As a world-renowned hair stylist, Travis made his career as the corporate style director of Neiman Marcus for more than 30 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Weatherford since 1987 and a charter member of Western Hills Baptist Church in Fort Worth.

Travis served his country with dedication and distinction during the Korean War and received an honorable discharge.

Travis was preceded in death by his wife, Faye Johnson, on Feb. 4, 2012; son, Travis "Joey" Johnson Jr., in 1978; his parents; and brother, Gene Ellis.

Survivors include son, Ray Johnson; daughter, Angela Meredith and husband, Ron; grandchildren, Crysten Rowan, Samantha Renee and Jonathan Alan; and a host of loving friends.

Hazel Ione Newbury Widell

Hazel was born on March 31, 1932 to Ralph and Hazel Newbury. On April 21, 1956 she married Donald Widell. Hazel and Don spent their married life in Centralia, WA. where they worked and raised their daughters. After her move to Azle in 2010, she enjoyed watching her grandchildren in their various activities and attending the First United Methodist Church of Azle.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Donald Widell.

Survivors include daughters, and sons-in-laws, Debra Weiss and husband, William of Lake Oswego, OR., Dona Granger and husband, Larry of Anthem, AZ., Diana McDowell and husband, Allen of Azle; grandchildren, Richard, Trevor, Jeff, Grant, Kylan, Brady and Anastasia.

She was born in Cisco to Noah and Bettie Cate on July 11, 1937.

Gwinn was a longtime resident of Azle. She loved her family and the Azle Manor Staff.

Gwinn was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marvin; and a son.

Survivors include Terry Grozier and wife, Vanessa of Crowley; daughters, Suzan Grozier of Weatherford and Denice Trimble of Wash.; grandchildren, Daniel, Tommy Lanell, Earnest and Robert; numerous great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Lonnie "Animal" Mills, Sr.

Lonnie was born February 12, 1953 in the United Kingdom. He was a retired heavy equipment operator. Lonnie honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps in Vietnam. He was a member of the Phoenix Motorcycle Club in Springtown.

Lonnie was preceded in death by his wife, Judy in 2008.

Survivors include his sons, Lonnie Mills,Jr. and wife, Stephanie of Azle and Troy Matkin; grandchildren, Lonnie Mills, III and Christopher Mills
