Donald McCarty, 78, died Monday, Sept. 8, 2014 at his home.
Funeral is set for 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, 2014 at North Main Church of Christ with interment in Landruth Cemetery. Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel.
Mr. McCarty was born June 17, 1936 in Mills County to Lonnie McCarty and Myrtle Watkins McCarty. He met Carolyn Odom McCarty at Tarleton State University and they married in 1956.  They had 58 wonderful years together.  Living in Denton for 12 years, McCarty graduated from North Texas University with a degree in business. He was a devoted family man.  Aside from relatives, his church family held a huge piece of his heart. He served at North Main Church of Christ for 36 years as an elder and bible teacher.
After 41 years, Don retired from General Dynamic and Computer Science Corporation where he was director of advanced planning. His hobbies included anything pertaining to manual labor or accomplishment, especially his yard and country cabin. He and Carolyn loved to travel and enjoyed the times she joined him as he worked in Farnborough, England, and their trip to Ireland. Many road trips were also taken throughout the states and Canada.

James "Cannonball" Lawrence, 73, died Sunday, Sept. 7, 2014, in Fort Worth.
A celebration of life is planned at 10 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of White's Funeral Home, 105 Denver Trail, Azle.
In lieu of usual remembrances, the Lawrence family suggests contributions to American Heart Association, P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, Texas 75284 or National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd St., New York, NY 10016.
James Howard Lawrence was born Jan. 27, 1941, in Monticello, Ark., son of the late Edwin T. and Mary Kate Smith Lawrence. “Cannonball," for 50 years, made his career as a master electrician and was a member of IBEW Local Union 116.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Rosetta Lawrence of Azle; children, Jerry Lawrence and wife, Paula, Jenee Blackwell and husband, Robert, John Lawrence and wife, Kelly, Jeff Lawrence and wife, Mollie, James L. Lawrence and wife, Helen; brothers, Charles Lawrence and Terry Weddle; sisters, Sandra Coleman and Kathy Turner and husband, Ronnie; cousin, Robert Tanner; 20 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and extended family and friends.

Billie Ruth Long Bell of Brock died Sept. 7, 2014, as son, Willis Bell, comforted her at her bedside. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 12 in Weatherford's East Greenwood Cemetery, with White's Funeral Home, Weatherford in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at White's Funeral Home, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford.
In lieu of flowers, memorials and remembrances may be made to the Parker County Historical Commission, 216 Fort Worth Highway, Weatherford, Texas 76086.
Mrs. Bell was born Oct. 8, 1924, first-born of the late Stephen Willis and Sarah Ruth Simpson Long, in Parker County. She was followed by sisters, Mary Linda, Ella Sue, Louise, and brother, Stephen (Steve) Willis Long, Jr. She was an accomplished artist with oils, photographer, and respected educator. Bell took pride in being a self-reliant woman, especially in her later years.
She married M. W. "Pos" Bell May 29, 1947 in a double ceremony as her sister Linda became the wife of Thomas Giles Thompson of Abilene. After going to school summer and extension courses at night, M.W. and Billie Ruth received their B.S. and M.S. degrees, respectively, at summer graduation exercises at North Texas State University in 1950. They enjoyed long and productive teaching careers in Parker County, spanning four decades.

Russell Eric Justice, 22, of Weatherford died Friday, Sept. 5, 2014 following a brief illness.
Funeral is set for 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9 at Couts United Methodist Church with interment in Aledo Brown Cemetery. Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel. Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, send donations to the Tarleton State University Development Office to be used for a choral scholarship.
Mr. Justice was born Sept. 17, 1991 in Fort Worth. He was a student at Tarleton State University, majoring in music education and minoring in theatre. He was a member of Mu Phi Epsilon and an Eagle Scout, and he loved musical theatre. He was preceded in death by his mother, Amy Justice and grandmother, Carol Draper.
Survivors include his father, Lisle Wayne Justice of Weatherford; sister, Kim Larsen and husband Tim of Fort Worth; brothers, Brad Justice and wife Jaclyn of Weatherford and Andrew Justice of Weatherford; paternal grandparents, James and Margaret Justice of Fort Worth and maternal grandparents, Lt. Col Derwin D. Draper (ret.) and wife Deanna of Crowley.

David L. Pearston, 71, of Weatherford, died Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2014.
Memorial service is set for noon Monday at the Brownstone Chapel, 112 W. Oak St., Weatherford.

Mr. Pearston was born Feb. 10, 1943 to William Miles and Mable Lura Morgan Pearston in Pampa. He grew up and attended school in Skellytown. After graduating from high school Pearston enlisted in the United States Navy as a corpsman and received the Navy and Marine Corps Medal for heroism. Once discharged from the Navy he trained at the San Diego Police Academy and served as a San Diego police officer for 20 years, retiring as a sergeant. He obtained a master's degree in public administration from the National University.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Alyssah Freeman.
Survivors include his daughter, Dawn Freeman and husband, Mitch; son, Don Pearston; grandchildren, Hannah Morgan Freeman and Kai Leon Pearston; special friend, Dora Belew; special cousin, Joyce Huffman and husband, Jack; and many other extended family members and friends.

Bailey Goss Sullivan, 17, of the Aledo area, died Sept. 1, 2014, in an automobile accident as a passenger. 
Funeral is set for 10 a.m. Saturday at Springtown Church of Christ, 316 Church St., Springtown with interment at Springtown Cemetery. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Friday at White's Funeral Home, 401 N. Main St., Springtown.

Sullivan was born April 29, 1997, in Weatherford, the daughter of Christy Sullivan and Chea Goss and granddaughter of James (Sandy) and Barbara Sullivan of Springtown. She had just started her senior year at Aledo High School, where she was studying web technologies and interior design. She planned to go to college at Abilene Christian University.
Sullivan previously lived in Springtown with her grandparents for a number of years, attending and being baptized at the Springtown Church of Christ where she enjoyed many youth activities. She was a former student in Springtown for a number of years and had a great love for little children and animals and they loved her.
She is survived by her mother, Christy Sullivan; younger sister, Cara (NaeNae) Sullivan; and her father, Chea Goss and his wife Stacey; maternal grandparents, James (Sandy) and Barbara Sullivan, of Springtown; aunt and uncle Jackie and Linda Sullivan, aunt and uncle J.C.

Richard ‘Ricky’ King, 60, died Saturday, August 30, 2014.
Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. Friday at White's Azle Funeral Home, 105 Denver Trail, Azle.
Mr. King was born Jan. 22, 1954 was preceded in death by his parents, Richard King and Rose-Mary Moore King, and sister, Debra Perkins.
He is survived by his children, Christina Rose-Marie Martin and Richard Klye Lee King of Azle; grandson, Dakota Montana Green of Fort Carson Army Base, Colorado Springs; brothers and sisters, Kenneth King, Teresa Burch, Tina Luma, Rocky King, and Rose Goubeaux; many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and special friend, Ronald Moore.

Marshal Wesley Hart, 94, of Weatherford died Aug. 28, 2014.
Service was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at South Main Church of Christ, 201 S. Main St., Weatherford with interment at East Greenwood Cemetery

Mr. Hart was born May 7, 1920 and was a life-long resident of Parker County. He became the man of the house when his father died suddenly at an early age. Following a stint in the Army Air Corps, he returned home and married Corinne Morris. He began a career with what became the Brazos River Gas Co. and served as manager for more than 30 years. Hart was a member at the South Main Church of Christ where he served faithfully as a deacon.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edgar Hart; mother, Effie Plumlee Hart; brother, Gordon Hart; first wife, Corrine Morris Hart; newborn, Freddie Hart; and second wife, Lorene Gwinn Hart. He is survived by one son, Dale Hart and wife, Lynette, of Hurst; one daughter, Marsha Hart Uselton and husband, Danny, of Weatherford; grandson, Bailey Hart and wife, Rachel, of Houston; five granddaughters, Emily Hart Warr and husband, Jeff, of Fort Worth, Cathryn Uselton Dunlap and husband, Kyle, of Levelland, Laura Uselton Deaver and husband, Brady, of Yukon, Okla., Natalie Uselton Bennet and husband, Brett, of Coahoma and Whitney Uselton of Weatherford; and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by Lorene's daughter, Twyla Castleschouldt; and her daughters, Amber and Marsha, as well as their families.

Vernelle Thomas, 94, of Azle died Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014.
Graveside service is 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park, 5725 Colleyville Blvd., Colleyville.

Mrs. Thomas was born May 17, 1920 to Harry Lee and Mamie Laticia Warren Thomas in Fort Worth. She graduated from Keller High School and attended Brantley Drawn Business School. She married Rembert Adam Thomas in March 1938. He died in 1992. She was a member of Desk and Derrick Club and worked for many years at Sinclair Oil Company.
Thomas was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Rembert Adam Thomas; her parents, Harry and Mamie Thomas; and brother, Charles Edward Thomas.
Survivors include her son, Jim Thomas and wife, Glenda, of Keller; daughter, Lassie Salitore and husband, Fred, of Azle; eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.

Ms. Teater was born Jan. 7, 1987 in Azle to A.W. Teater and Tina Louise Oliver Hunter and was raised in Azle. She was an Iraq war veteran and lived, worked and went to school in Waco attending Tarleton.
Survivors include her mother, Tina Hunter and husband, John of Waco; father, Arnold "A.W." Teater and wife, Maria of Azle; sisters, Tishe Sharp of Azle, Tanya Carter of Keller, Gilsila Voncken of Holland, Andrea Balcazar and Claudi Balcazar of Lima, Peru; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other family members and friends in the U.S., Europe and South America.
