Joyce Mae Brown, 82, died Friday, July 25, 2014.
Memorial service is set for 2 p.m. Tuesday at White's Funeral Home Chapel in Azle.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
Mrs. Brown was born Feb. 24, 1932, to Edmond and Olivia Phillips in St. Landry Parish, La. For the last seven years, she resided with her daughter and son-in-law, JoAnn and Thomas Jackson, in Azle.
She had the opportunity to travel the world with her family and husband, Sydney Brown, of over 20 years. Joyce was one of 13 children. Her passion was spending time with family and reunions were an annual celebration.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Sydney Brown; her son, Jack Johnson; brothers, Jessie, Donald and Matthew; and sisters, Gloria, Mable and Rosalie Phillips.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, JoAnn and Thomas Jackson; grandchildren, Kraig Gillis, Carrie Baker, Jessie Johnson and Luke Johnson; eight great-grandchildren who fondly called her "GG"; and sisters, Isabelle Armond, Irene Scallon, Vera Chauncey, Geraldine Darbonne, Peggy Barker and Mary Feig.
