Jimmy Ray “Poppy” Wooten, 72, of Weatherford, died Monday morning, June 23, 2014 at his residence.
Funeral service is set for 10 a.m. Thursday at South Main Church of Christ with interment in East Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel.
Mr. Wooten was born Aug. 17, 1941 in Seymour. He was owner of Wooten’s Barber & Style, a member of the Master Barbers Association and a member of South Main Church of Christ. Known as Poppy, he loved to go fishing and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. He is preceded in death by a daughter, Shana Dell Allen; sister, Dorothy May Bryan; twin brother, Willie Jay Wooten; brother, Rickie Dee Wooten; mother, Viola Carlock Wooten; and father, Rillie Wooten.
He is survived by his wife; Glenna Wooten of Weatherford; daughter, April Adair and husband Tim of Weatherford; sons, James Wooten and wife Lori of Springtown and Richard Wooten of Weatherford; sisters, Barbara J. Cook of Seymour and Sharon Kay Heim of Seymour; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
