Jim Fox, 84, died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014, surrounded by family in Fort Worth.
Funeral is set for 10 a.m. Friday in White's Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford. Interment will be in Hill Cemetery. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
James Fox was born Jan. 25, 1930, in Abilene, the second of four sons, to the late Elijah Martin and Norma Billingsley Fox. He served one year in the U.S. Navy and married the former Mary E. Phillips March 18, 1951. Jim was called back to the Navy in 1952 and served an additional two years on Guam during the Korean War. He was discharged after faithful service to his country, and came home and began a 40-year career of dedicated service with Convair, General Dynamics, and finally, Lockheed.
Fox was a longtime member of Highway Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Angie Jackson; a grandson, Justin David Fox; twin brother, Sam Fox; and brother, Bill Fox.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Mary Fox of Weatherford; sons, Gregory Fox and Michael Fox of Weatherford; grandchildren, Phillip, Amy, Josh, Melissa, Bailee, Jeremiah, Sarah, and Jacob; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Charles Fox and wife, Jenette, of San Antonio; friend, Nancy Fox of McAllen; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of loving church family and friends.
