Johnie T. Harlin, Sr., 98, died Feb. 16, 2014 in Fort Worth.
Graveside service is set for 1 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014 at Poolville Cemetery. Visitation is from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19 at White's Funeral Home, 401 N. Main, Springtown.
Mr. Harlin was born in Melissa Sept. 1, 1915 to Jesse J. Harlin and Molly Peebles Harlin. He was a retired master sergeant in the U.S. Air Force where he served during World War II and the Korean War. During his long service he was awarded numerous medals, including the Purple Heart. He also retired as a diesel mechanic from Red Ball Freight.
Harlin married Estaleen Feb. 25, 1950. From an early age he loved farming and working in his garden. He was a member of the Springtown Church of Christ.
Harlin was preceded in death by his wife, Estaleen; daughter, Carol; and grandson, Jason.
Survivors include his children, John Harlin, Jr. and wife, Ann, Gayla Blevins and husband, Richard, and Joy Brantley and husband, Carl; grandchildren, Christopher, Christy, Brent, Jennifer, Julie, and Melaina; and numerous great-grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, and loved ones.
